On the way out...

Post by Professor Tawdry » Thu Sep 09, 2004 8:54 pm

The people we met on the way out (6 hour line!) were soo cool, mad props to Kevin and his multiple cases of rockstar. We just started gifting people walking by the convoy line and partiing ensued. (not for the driver though- I stayed sober)
Wheres my fucking gift?

Exodus was so fun. I've never been so happy being stuck in traffic for 5 hours, and I'm from L.A. Thanks to the guy and girls who let us party on the roof their RV. That was so awesome...

exodus art car pics?

Post by GuinivereElise » Fri Sep 10, 2004 1:12 pm

Hey burners...

We were in the line for the exodus on Monday afternoon... it was some of the best memories I have of the whole week! Everyone was so rad...

We were in our art car, and had many pictures taken of us as we chilled out in line... I was wondering if any of you folks had any of those that you could mail to me...

Our art car was the 1979 Lincoln Continental Coup, topless (the car... oh wait, me too!), with mardi gras beads on the hood ornament and side mirrors, with happy camp spray-paint art on the hood, and a HUGE chrome grille threaded with barbed wire. Steven was driving, while topless Guinivere (c'est moi!) sat shotgun. If anyone has pictures of this, I would adore you forever if you could send them my way!

If not, that's cool, and see you next year!

(I'll adore you forever anyway...)

Sounds like a great time! Dammit, why couldn't I have worse traffic?

We left a little earlier (just before noon on Monday) and only had a little time to chat up our neighbors in line. But the BMIR DJ rocked! I loved leaving the playa to the Lee Press On song as he signed off one last time...

Our trip out wasn't so good, took us about 2 hours and it started off with some nice people and gifts, but after that we had these idiots trying to cut in front of the line and even, and i have no idea why, parking right in the middle of the exit road and starting to set up what looked like a shade tarp. Did burning take your brain away or what? LoL, good times though can't wait till next year.

Aren't you supposed to go to the back of the line?

Post by mustchange4Xday » Tue Sep 14, 2004 2:27 pm

I have to say that my trip out wasnt' great either. We had droves of people cutting in front of us. So much so that it took us 8 hours to leave and we got into line a 1:30! We had driven from our camp to the back of the line, and then we saw other people driving from their camps, through the radial streets and cutting in line.

My driver actually mentioned this to an RV that was attempting to cut in front of us, very politely so, and in return they were very nasty. I didn't ask, but I would like to think that they weren't seasoned burners. Instead, they send a topless girl to try to bribe the car in front of us to cut in anyway. What she didn't know is that the car in front of us was the driver's husband!

I really do think that BM should post what the proper exit system is. Not that it would help in some cases, because these people didn' even have any concern for anyone else!
