Pondering the theme and the ticket system

So I have been reading the BM forums and thinking about the theme. It occurs to me that the in some ways the ticketing system has fed well into the theme.
What better way to foster the incubation of new relationships and new camps than stirring up the established groups.

With many old time burners not getting tickets and attending there will be vacuums in the structure of the burn (bars, dance, art, etc). In the spirit of radical inclusiveness it is my guess that many folks will band together to form smaller camps to fill these needs. These smaller camps may wind up being the seeds of larger camps in future years. Perhaps this is a way to encourage new camps to grow and create a more diverse environment.

I hearing a LOT of.. ‘you have to see X it is always awesome’, ‘X throws a great party’, ‘X always has a great art project’. If that is happening then there is clearly a cementing of the camps at the burn (yes there is always room for more, but shaking the established encourages the growth of new).

I have concerns with the new structure I really want to go, and yes I’m one of those that didn’t get a ticket, but I’m keeping faith that I’ll get a ticket. I just hope that it doesn’t prevent the amazing art from being created (and yes I'm part of a theme camp that is at 30% ticket awards).
