Hewo from Minnesota
Hello, My real name is Mike. I live in good 'ol Saint Paul, MN near the top of a hill over looking downtown and the mighty Mississippi River. I had always thought of attending and Burning Man and decided this was the year to do it. A friend ( 9 year Burner) in California invited me to join him this year to the festival. Even though I haven't gotten a ticket yet, I'm hoping I can still go and I will only buy one from STEP or the next sale. I DJ in the virtual world of Second Life. I'd like to volunteer to DJ on BMIR and I'm working on a mix to send them. I have a degree in Radio Broadcasting, but never pursued it for a career so perhaps I'll get shot on BMIR.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Re: Hewo from Minnesota
Thank you
The funny thing about starting off on a journey like this, are the crazy things I've been coming up with that I'd like to wear and build. Hmmmm, I better start looking for an old golf cart to convert for 2013.
Anyway, I'd been thinking of the ticket situation and thought of a possible solution to ease the tide noobs, like me, who would like to participate. It's clear that core members, theme camps etc. need to attend and should be given priority to get tickets for the sale coming up in March. Perhaps BMORG could put the people who didn't get a ticket this year on a waiting list for next year. Those people would get priority after the core members and theme camps. Then sell any remaining tickets. After that I'd place a burgin on a 1 year waiting list to be eligible for their first burn. This way, it would weed out the ones not serious and reward the ones who are by getting them to participate in these forums and their local BM affiliate. This is just a thought to throw out there. Any comments are welcome.

It's not at all clear to me. I think we'd end up with a more interesting and creative Black Rock City if we just let the chips fall where they may. There are wonderful camps out there--but I think that forcing them to rethink plans, merge with other camps, and improvise would make this year a stand-out, with risks that might or might not pan out, but that will result in a lot of interesting things.
I realize I'm a voice in the wilderness here, however.

I DJ in Second Life at a couple of clubs, Starfall and Spankie's. Strictly amateur, but it's fun. My mix of tunes mainly focuses on indie bands of all genres. If it sounds good to me, I play it.
