Not sure who to contact on this but I know that BM has been reaching out to some of the major theme camps to get a feel for how they did on tickets and what can be done to ensure their core groups are intact enough to be able to participate this year. I'd like to be sure to get our camp, Playa Surfers on your radar. Who can I reach out to?

The placement teams have already got lists of camps, names, sizes, etc from the 2011 registration info.

Don't be scared.

1- be proactive. If you want your voice heard, get involved with the theme camp forum they are having.

2- don't count on theme camps getting special treatment. That is a good way to set oneself up for dissapointment.

In my opinion If one is not spending at least two hrs. a week dedicated to reading postings, interacting with; campmates, other participants and curious friends. Than they are really setting themselves up for being lumped into the croud that will be being told how things are and not making things happen. Whatever you do chose to (or not) to do is going to determine how or if you are going to be on the playa.

They haven't reached out to my camp either. It's my understanding they weren't contacting everybody, just a sampling to get an idea of the situation that all camps are facing.

Didn't you get the email from the Placement Team about the theme camp meeting/webcast tomorrow? Its pretty clear they are going to announce whatever they have come up with vis-a-vis the ticketing problems for theme camps during that event...

@alt12 - the theme camp forum (which has been on the books for months) was already scheduled and the placement team had been working on their agenda before all this went down. If I had to guess (and it's just me guessing, no official anything or insider info), it would be that when the board gives whatever necessary approvals they give, the communications team will get that put out via the blog and then JRS. Looking at the last couple related announcements on the matter, I'd also guess (and again, it's just me guessing) that will happen sometime in the late afternoon. I'm sure that if the statement's been made by the time the meeting starts they'll either read it or summarize it, if only so they don't have a ton of people all asking questions that it may answer. We'll see how it goes, I'll be there and plan on taking notes and sharing them on the boards after I get back.

I hope not, Zaphod. That is one of the things I dislike about the proposed methods of deciding who is and is not worthy of the ten thousand. Anywhere you draw the line, you leave out worthies.
