Naked City
There should be a designated theme camp for people that are nudists/naturists and are comfortable with the human body. At my last burn I noticed many people walking around nude and feel if we could establish an area for like minded people we could all camp together. I am sure there are many burners out there that practice the nudist life style that would like to connect with other nudists.

So . . . start taking applications.

If it doesn't work out, you still have an entire city in which to practice.

Re: Naked City
I realize people are kinda being dicks toward you. I'm sorry. I do love these people, damaged though they are (but who isn't damaged). Sorry, this ticket thing is wearing us down, so you're proving a lovely distraction. But to be fair, whatever the overlap between burners and nudists is, there's not much of an overlap of eplayans and nudists.

Re: Naked City
Black Rock City is amazing not only in the wide range of camps, but that absolutely anybody can start their own theme camp, around very nearly any idea (or ideal) that matters to them. Don't see something you'd like - start one of your own! Putting yourself 'out there' on the message boards may invite some snarky comments, but it will also potentially invite some like-minded folks who may well end up being your future campmates. Take a look at this thread for a start. Good luck!

Re: Naked City
Babaka, I love the idea of a nudist/naturist theme camp. I really think a lot of people are on the line, and a visit to a camp like this would be an awesome addition to BRC. If any city could have something like this Black Rock City is the place!

Re: Naked City
I don't want to nor do I know how to start a theme camp of any kind as I have only been to BM one time and that was last year. I just thought I would throw the idea out there and perhaps someone would like to do this type of theme camp and I would of course be part of their camp and do whatever I could do to help with the planning.

Babaka, I organized and operated a very successful Registered Theme Camp my second year. Not difficult. All the information for the registration process is on the web site. Go for it!

For what it's worth, if you read the instructions for starting a theme camp on this website, even a burgin can do it!Babaka wrote:I don't want to nor do I know how to start a theme camp of any kind as I have only been to BM one time and that was last year. Having said that, our camp is most definitely clothing optional and we fully endorse the beautiful bodies of young and old alike. And i use the term beautiful in the context of anyone and everyone of all shapes and sizes. The beauty is people comfortable in their own skin.

Theme camps need not be official and placed. They can be unregistered, and exist in Open Camping.

Re: Naked City
There was a wonderful dual camp -The Elders (mostly over age 60) managed by Jim and Sue and which held the well attended and loved "Bach and Brie" afternoon discussions and Why Clothes? managed by Mike and Sue which led a "Nude Art Tour" one day during the week. Clothing was not expected in camp and neither was nudity. It was "do your own thing" as most of BM is. Unfortunately, both camps have ceased to exist.
I would encourage you to organized Naked City - you will have a number of people who will want to belong. You might want to try to balance males and females - a reasonably even balance might be better - and you might want to get details from potential members so that you have some idea of who will be in the camp.
Best wishes. Announce your camp if you do it.

Re: Naked City
Babaka, I fully endorse your efforts. The last few years there has been a camp on the Esplanade around 7 o'clock called Party Naked. I don't know much about the camp but you might try and contact them. They had a bar (please bring your own towel). My college sweetheart and her folks were nudists and the last 30+ years I have done lots of naked adventures. Oddly enough in 11 years at BurningMan I haven't gotten naked much. Don't really think about it much but I think a camp of like minded folks would be fun.
Good luck!

Re: Naked City
Babaka, just remember you don't have to register your theme camp to have a theme camp. The bulk of the theme camps you find in the city are of the non-registered and placed verity after all. Just think of it like planing a house party. Only that instead of a dish everyone brings their gear.
Nor757, is the Why Clothes? camp the same as the Why Wear Clothes? camp?
