Wow...what an honor. I was actually hoping to win an ever-elusive burning man ticket which I am worried I will not be able to obtain this again this year.

Oh...about me... I'm a 4-time burner...I made and brought an art car once, and made three custom scooters each other time. I've been self-employed for 12 years, but the latter word in that phrase is a misnomer. Entrepreneurs survive on their wits and anything they can. They often work for below minimum wage while paying themselves out of now income. I discovered if a self employed person gets in a car accident, insurance companies won't compensate for wages because they don't consider there to be any. And you can't collect unemployment benefits.

It is both interesting and sad that the feds and states are pushing to create more jobs. Don't jobs start with businesses? How about improving the business climate for startups so we can enjoy the freedom of being creative, but not be smothered in so much bureaucracy and fees that we can't even get going.

Burning Man created something from nothing and gets hassled constantly with so many government entities extracting tolls everywhere they can. Yet we still persevere...hoping to escape the harsh reality fabricated by control freaks determined to destroy the planet and enslave others while amplifying their power. For two weeks a year, we can forget about that reality and enter an alternative universe. Thank you burning man for showing the way.
