Yesterday I ordered a UV LED hula hoop. I'm thinking it will go nicely with my outfits that have glow-in-the-dark accents.

Where did you order your LED hula from? I have my eye on an "Ember" from moodhoops. I just don't know if I want the large or medium. Also - buying a light up sight unseen is hard. I'm picky ;)

And as for chop sticks, I try to collect the throw away ones here and there when eat chinese or sushi. I usually use them a time or two on the playa and then they can go into the burn box.

I like those "no handle" utensils. Is that Bamboo?

Does it count I just put $70 away in my savings account for BM?

Have not gotten anything today and prob wont for a while because not sure what is going on with the ticket right now. Need to be prepared for that first before I buy fur and all that fun stuff.

I read a post on one of the threads about getting a fun faux fur at goodwill.com. They now have auctions! I won a cool white one for 7 bucks! Also got fuzzy leg warmers for 12 and corset I plan on decorating for 19.00 ( some even cheaper) on eBay!

Same boat, no ticket. But I've dreamed about the burn almost every night for a while so I figure the universe will hear me. :D

Danibele, I got my hoop on eBay. The seller had a video of their hoops & how they're made collapsible so I could see it in action before buying. I also like that it's easy to replace batteries & even comes with a rechargeable battery & charger.

My item for today is working on a purple & white monster fur jacket. It's been in progress for a few weeks & I think I might be able to finish it today.

My friend is selling her Ember from moodhoops. She just linked to a video on youtube. If you search there are tons of videos that give you an idea of how it looks. And the size just depends on how comfortable you feel with the weight and quickness of it. The medium one will spin much faster than the large.

I bought tons of patterns and fabric and then more fabric and patterns...I'm returning today to purchase a rotary cutting tool and bigger mat as my pinky is getting a blister from my fabric scissors :?

Also got some shiny red boots and a red wig in the mail for a costume I am not yet sure will be for BM or not...

I'm not a "hooper" per-say but I was nuts about it as a kid & have picked one up from time to time recently. I figured this was an opportunity not to be missed to help highlight my glow-in-the-dark outfits and to do something fun with LED lights. :D

Today I finished my newest faux fur frock. I took a costume pattern for a short costume coat & went all "burny" with it. Made with purple long fur with white frosted tips & lined with super soft white cuddle plush fabric. I added pockets, a hood, and some lights. Ta-da!

PurplyMist that is fabulous, simply fabulous!

Today I bought six more bottles of Texas Wine to add to the stash.
Ken finished MyDearFriend's loveseat and has the construction of the last table and stools done. Tomorrow he paints those.
Sarah bought her tent.
Lillian tinkled in her little potty chair and had a dry diaper all day!

A productive Sunday at our little burner house.

Spent the afternoon moving my daughters crap out and moving my stuff into my sewing room.

Experimented with a variety of techniques for sewing fishnet fabric.

Finally got a few things up on Etsy.

I found my label maker today! Score!! It was in the tv stand... no idea why.
Any hooters. Labeled a bunch of stuff in my box for BM. Put all my random stuff I had laying around the for the burn in the box to like my goggles and spork ect)
Made a Mini Sun screen bottle put it in my waist belt. ( Ps what would be a good backing for strength on the belt? It is like a cheap fake leather)

Cleaned half the house, but now have about a 3 foot by 5 foot pile of laundry sitting in the middle of the living room floor I really should put away.

Need to buy some D rings for my waist pack at some point so I can clip my beaners to it.

This is what I have so far. ( still need to get a few little things in there like gum, ashtray, chaffing lotion, spare batteries for head lamp ,super glue and elect tape)
(if you see something missing let me know)

Spork, Paper, pen, first aid tape, 2 sets of latex gloves, wet ones, waterproof bandaids, alcohol swabs, beaners, condoms, sunblock, hand sani, LED stick, sharpie, safety pins and a hair tie.

Make sure to add chapstick in there as well as some decent eyedrops. Also make sure that you pack multiples of each of those things because they tend to get lost easily.

I do have the eye drops but they are in my bathroom bag. I guess I should put them in there as I wont be "home" all that much and the dust is going to be bad this year. Oh yeah I have breath drops to :) Chapstick I thought I had it in there but guess not. I think I put it in another baggie. Best check on that.
I have mult. of everything in another bag other then the spork, beaners and LED stick ( I want to get another one though) Also I have all my medical info inside that paper pad just incase.

A whistle is fine. Would probably only be used for making little songs while wandering the playa or at least that is the only use I would have found for one in the past 4 burns :)

BTW as long as your smart you don't need to worry about being preyed upon from what I have noticed.

Are you going to use a camelback for your water or are you going to attach something to your belt? (I have done both)

Oh and to be a little on topic I have spent all day off and on making lists for items to purchase for the burn.

I bought a military camlebak off ebay. I still am waiting to get a bladder for it. The seller is out right now.
The whistle. Ehhh I just want to have it for shits and giggles. Im not overly concerned about being.... _____ insert whatever here. I used to live on the streets of LA and have been out and about in Paris late late at night alone. Im pretty good about watching my surroundings drunk or sober. plus there are far more better looking chicks then me out there. No one want to try to abduct or move a passed out fat girl we are to hard to drag lol.

Yep I have a list.

Re: A whistle. Two things, the first of which is a sufficiently loud "I SAID NO!" should bring the marines and they'll know what's up. No fumbling for the whistle at a run or while struggling to get away. Second, if you pack one, make it plastic and clip it to the outside on one of those leashes for name badges and glam it up. Metal can get hot enough to leave burns and if you make it decorative enough the deviants won't know what it is.

Also you want to put anything water damageable like the pad, pen, and the paper wrapped band-aids in something waterproof that will stop them from becoming useless if you get caught in a storm, and also if your bottles of liquids decide to leak. Freezer/storage ziplocks work well. Then pack a second one for MOOP.

Where's your towel?

Im going to use you as a towel silly! Just rub up against ya!;) lol

Yeah the whistle isnt so much for trouble but more so to get me in trouble....? Nah Idk may use it to get someones attention if they cant hear me? I have no idea. Just thought it might come in handy.

I have a gym whistle on my keyring, a real Acme Thunderer. Never occurred to me to have it out on the playa... but it would draw attention. Used the sucker when I subbed middle school gym classes.

Lovvvvvvvvvin the coat PurpleMyst!! I made a big coat out of that fur last year too. I used the grey/brown color with red satin lining, kind of like a reverse red riding hood. It is a big coat and is super warm. I like what you di d with your pattern though.

I ordered and bought the special 6 inch bi-filament tape for my hexayurt. Not a very glamorous purchase but an absolute essentional...
Oh my god, it's HUGE!

lots of Hardware-type stores around here have the LED lights that are great multi-purpose. The have a color LED in the stick, white LED "flashlight" on the end, and a whistle (with protective cap) on the other end. Very nifty & I've had one with me on the Playa past few years.

Yep that one is a life+gear. Just does not have a flash light. I got it for a buck after halloween. I REALLY wish I would have got the three that had left. Still kicking my self about it.
