Oooh all the good dread info!

I have thin hair, so braiding my own into small braids doesn't give enough support to really tie anything in. So I prefer the "dreds on top" style of hair enhancement.

Last year I wore 2 sets at different times. One set was made with synth hair from a wig & some loose locks i bought. I made individual braids & because they were a little heavy I attached them to a headband. Wearing them on the headband worked out perfect and I didn't really feel the weight pulling at my head.

The 2nd set I did was just braided yarn & those were super light. I attached those to 2 long barettes. I did my regular hair in 2 pigtails & the attached the barettes over the pigtails.

Of course all the pictures of me wearing them suck, but here's a pick of them piled on the table when they were finished. The purple & white (glow) ones are the synth hair, and the white (glow) and silver ones are the yarn.

Cool, but you may actually get better results with this stuff:
http://www.tatumribbon.com/id88.html
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

At a $100 minimum order, I'll pass...
I'll just have to be inventive with what I already have. 8)

There are sites that have it without a minimum order, but you pay a higher price per yard. I linked to thaty one because it illustrates all the styles on one page.

It's called simply "EYE" I found it on the clearance rack for 1.42 down from. around 6 dollars. I found the image online, so it's available out there. The light is bright but not solidly made. A good whack would finish it., I like the twisty bendy part though, about 18 inches. Thinking of a cyclops hat.

It reminds me of the older War of the Worlds Martian heat ray.

Finally got around to doing some work on our generator's extended run tank. General maintenance stuff, as well as fixing the tank's fuel gage. Not a big item, but every little bit helps - six months from now I plan on being on the playa and in the middle of setup :D

Just picked up a bunch of foam sheets, rex lace, mat board, and a rotary circle cutter at the craft store.

My purchases today fall under the not so exciting category. Sun block and saline nasal spray.

So last night I realized I had sewed my D ring hooks up side down *face palm* now I have to take them off and re sew them by hand. Uggg.

But I gave up on that for today. Today I am finally working on my playa coat with the scraps of fabric I found! Yay! It is going to be warm as all get out because it is made out of a old blanket and I plan on lining it to. This is the first coat I have ever made and am making it out of a old 80's buiness suit pattern that it a size 12... im far from a size 12 so we will see!!

Heck, I'm cleaning up. Finding cool stuff...

I said at the beginning of February that I would make 100 charms by mayday, and I haven't made one... I have to get busy...

Giggle. I am soooo excited. I got my tax return and decided to splurge a bit for my burn and I just ordered a LED hoop! Whooo hooo! I had a bit of credit on my paypal so I got to clear that off the books and get something I have wanted for awhile. I can hoop a lot better than I can spin poi, though I will bring some LED poi for anyone that wants to play with it. Light it up!

This one has taken a few days, but I finally managed to get our camp's web site revamped and updated. I reworked all the old galleries, and then added some information about Eridu Society's plans for 2012. There's still a lot more work I want to do, but this is a solid start.

I contacted the company we got the campervan from last year since it worked out so great...but alas they raised their rates by +129% per day. Ouch.
Gonna have to research this a bit to make sure it is still the best option. I may need to ask you a few questions about the place you got your BFT from.

So I didn't know what BFT was. Googled. Answer was Battle Force Truck.
Visions of you rolling into the Playa like the Americans rolling in Baghdad. I'm Slightly scared but more thrilled.

A neighbor put a coleman cooler out with a free sign on it. I obtained it. It had broken plastic hinges which I repaired.I cut up a bicycle tube to make 2 rubber squares and screwed them to the place the plastic hinges had broken from bending.

I went to the thrift store and bought a garage shelter for 17 bucks. The tubes were huge, 2 inches round and HEAVY. I also got an oval table/chair cover for 3 bucks, to cover my four man tent. It's HUGE. On the way home I stopped at a free sale of yardsale items and picked up a chair cushion, radio, 1 gallon lidded pitcher, and several small household items.
