Hello fellow burners! I am working on a project for school about the community that is Burning Man, and have developed a quick survey. It would mean the world to me if you could take a couple minutes and give me some input!
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely check it out! Part of my project is this survey, and I need to show my professor that I did actually try to survey people from the community (it is a community studies class). I am pretty sure that she wanted us to provide her with the list of answers that we gathered from our research.
I'm really new to the burner community, this last festival was my first. I am actually surfing eplaya right now because I have never been on it before. A friend suggested to me that if I really wanted to help explain to my classmates about the beauty and essence of burning man, that I should go straight to the community it's self. By all means, if you are uncomfortable taking my survey you obviously do not have to. I just wanted to make sure I was able to capture many thoughts from burners, along with their experiences, within my project so I did not misrepresent it.
I was in a good mood, so I took your survey. Burners can be sensitive to feeling like guinea pigs (we get a lot of survey requests) so don't be too offended if you don't get a flood of results. But I hope you get enough replies.
Thank you Savnnah! I really do appreciate it. I totally understand if someone did not want to take it. I have had a couple replies so far, and it is great reading about what people love about the festival. It is bringing back a couple memories for me, and I am now sitting here looking through some of my pictures that my partner took while we were there. It is also making me miss my camp mates! Most of them live in La, it was actually my first time meeting many of them in person. I feel privileged to have had such a great first burn.

I don't know that I'm going to take your survey, but I do appreciate the fact that when you were told of community norms here, you responded in a way that was respectful, and not with an (counter?)attack. Also, it's good to let us know about your experiences with the community--makes us feel less like performing seals and more like people, ya know?

The last thing I would ever want to do is offend anyone from this awesome community. I may have only attended once, but I already feel like I am apart of this wonderful family, and have met so many great people. It has truly changed my life. I am happy to say that it also helped my partner break out of his shell a little bit as well. I have to say, that I am really enjoying reading about all of your experiences and I cannot wait to share them with my classmates. Many of them have told me that they can't wait to see my project because they are all curious about what Burning Man is, and what it means to the members of the community. Thank you all for your help!!
