Re: Tickets Offered yet to anyone in STEP line?
From what I know, nobody is on the STEP list yet. 2000 people have been accepted, in that they've successfully REQUESTED being added to STEP. Nobody has confirmation of being in STEP yet, let alone actually awarded the chance to purchase a ticket. Maybe by that wording they really meant "you've been added to STEP", but if that's what they meant, why didn't they just say that?

If the list is going to be "scrubbed" as trilo (?) said, then we aren't on the list yet. We have to wait until the llc believes we aren't scalpers...

I can't for the life of me figure out why a scalper would enter STEP. The tickets are non-transferable, will-call.
Kind of a side note - I am surprised the Org told us there were only a couple hundred tickets in the STEP system. Transparency.

Had to let us down gently. The previous statement was "everybody who wants tickets will be able to get them!!!", so to go from that to "STEP will work for a tiny handful of people" would have caused an even worse community calamity.danibel wrote:I am surprised the Org told us there were only a couple hundred tickets in the STEP system. You should get an e-mail that says:
"Thank you, your request to be added to the WANT List was successful! Being added to this list does not guarantee you a chance to buy tickets.
If tickets do become available, you will receive an email with a link to purchase tickets. You will have 72 hours to buy tickets using your unique link - nobody else can use it.
Please do not contact customer support asking about your status. "
Good luck, everybody! I think they expect STEP to work for many more than a handful, or even just a few hundred people. The STEP program and the servers, support, bandwidth and other products necessary are substantially expensive and it just wouldn't be worth it if they anticipated that the program would be insignificant.

There is someone on reddit.com/r/burningman who said they got in at 12:01 and got offered a ticket right away.

I just got offered two tickets through STEP and bought them immediately... YES! I can't believe we're so lucky.

Yep, I've heard of at least one person who got offered a ticket. Seems like things are in motion.
Re: Tickets Offered yet to anyone in STEP line?
I was just offered two tickets via STEP.
Not sure how happy I am though since I'm not going to bring my cupcake car out from Chicago with just my wife and I. I need at least 8 more for our whole camp. Ugh. Nobody else from the camp has gotten notice, and we only have a chance (via STEP) for 4 other tickets.
If we buy these tickets hoping to eventually get the others we need, we can resell them via STEP (correct?) but I'm not sure on what the fee losses would be. I know I read it somewhere before but can't find it now...
Edit:
Did get a que confirmation which for some reason got routed to my junk mail. Time on email was 2:01:59. It didn't give my number in line. Got ticket offer about 1 1/2 hours later. Tickets are for $320 each.

What price level(s) are you guys getting offered tickets?
Also, at what times did you receive your queue confirmations? I imagine you are all at 12:01 or 12:02...

There are a few people on the BM Facebook page that said they've gotten them.

I was able to get 2 tickets at $320. Received email at 5:00 EST. Really didn't think STEP was going to come through. I wish everyone the best of luck in returning home.
