Picked up a Coleman Road Trip grill. Was $199, then on sale (price match from on line!) for $140 something, then they only had the display model in stock, take 10% off, the wheel was wobbly on the way to the check out, take another 10% off. We ended up out the door plus tax $119.00. Got the pancake griddle attachment too. Woot!

I have been looking for a good BBQ that is not as large as my behemoth chrome thing on the deck, more portable but that still gives you good control with BBQing and found this on Craigslist for $50 with the propane tank already full. The retail price is $179.00 so it was a great deal for me and it really does work very well, can cool low and slow or hot and fast with good regulation:-)

Stopped at the fabric store for a few sew on snaps and ended up with bolt of an awesome purple zebra print fabric with a silky feel.

We got a freak snow storm today. Sunday is laundry day so I am over at my moms washing clothes so I decided to just hang out here and sew. I am finishing my util belt. Have two more loops to sew on for the beaners and it will be done.... finally!! I need a thimble lol.
After I get it done I am going to start sewing my playa coat. My mom is an amazing seamstress so when she gets up from her nap she is going to help! here are some pics of it.

The light blue/green is that heavy fuzzy kinda like fleece (outside)
blue next to it is the linking (cotton)
the flower is the bottom of it (apulstry fabric)
Purple is the botton straps then silver buttons.

Image

This is kinda what it will look like minus the fur and buckles plus add a hood.

Larry is sorting our light boxes. We both know we have more solar lights, new ones from the holiday sales. and that he put them in a bin. No clue where they may be. We'll find them this summer most likely.

That would be a great question on the costume/crafting thread?

I halt glitter-shed with a covering of Mod-podge. If the glitter is thick, it will only work somewhat. They do make sparkle mod-podge with rainbow glitter mixed in it.

I was thinking possibly a thick coat of clear acrylic (brush on type -not spray on).

Mod podge certainly would work to some extent. I just dislike the almost tacky fee of it once it hardens, however it is more flexible than varnish if that's a factor.

If you want to mix glitter in a clear medium to paint on then I suggest a cake decorating product called disco dust. It is basically glitter that has been made in much tinier pieces.

We use a canned spray fixant to seal the glitter. I will ask my daughter what the name is but it does seem to work great. You can pound it on the table and it does not come off:-)

Love the hats and the skirt/tutu is great!

Scored -- free -- a pile of galvanized chain link fence pipe, suitable for a 20 x 40 shade structure to be attached to my bus. The fence tubing is all new, just left outside in a pile for ten or 20 years. There is some other various junk pipe, but the recycling yard is near by.

Networking, folks. All that fence tubing came from one of the members of my Lions Club. Boring club meetings, but fantastic networking.

I cruised the clearance isle and found 5 sets of ear plugs for $2 a Band-aid anti chaffing and shoe friction stick for $1, a LED stick for $3 (no idea if it works I think the batteries are dead) and then 2 9 LED light mini flashlights for $4 with batteries. Speaking of batteries, does anyone know where you can get those little round batteries (LR44's) that go in LED sticks for cheap? I saw them for like $2.49 each!! IKES.
If you can tolerate Maul Mart, I just saw the LR44 button batteries in the fishing section for $1.79 a pair. They're next to the bobbers, specifically they're replacement batteries for the night fishing light up ones.

Amazon has a listing for 2.09 for a ten pack of those batteries and 6.49 for a 50 pack.

Edit: Not sure I would go with the wally mart ones - I've used them for cat fishing and they don't last long in my experience.

I saw those ones. I read the reviews and they say many of them come broken and leaking. Not sure about that. Plus I found out my other LED takes smaller ones then that. So I think i may just suck it up and buy them at the store. God I hate walmart though.

Funny that it didn't occur to me before, but I just looked and my LED poi take LR44's. I get them from homeofpoi.com and have never had any problems with them - plus they last a long time. I usually buy them with other stuff, but even just ordering an 8 pack it comes to only 5.74 including shipping or 8.43 for two 8 packs. They ship fast too.

Home of Poi has them too, $2.33/8 with a quantity discount, but again you'd have to pay shipping. (works out to $2.79 per 8 pack if you buy ten packs) I like to nose around and build orders over time, and usually have a pretty extensive acquision list. That way I maximize the value out of the shipping, or can make the purchase elsewhere locally to avoid the shipping altogether or find a site that does free shipping. (GMTA Drawing a blank/simultaneous post)

And just to stay topical: my acquisition was a couple packs of end of season 50% off small hand warmers. They have the same contents as commercial oxygen absorbers that you would use for vacuum packing food and long term storage of dry goods.
