Re: Virgin Burner and musician
Welcome to ePlaya, Cin!
There is no sound card in my computer so I cannot hear your music, but I can tell you this: There are "one or two of us" who would very much welcome real music, played by real musicians, on real instruments, in Black Rock City. Perhaps you remember the stuff... the kind with melodies and harmonies and soaring notes resolving sweetly in the fair night. As opposed to artificially assembled tone-deaf thumping delivered by disc jockeys who mostly want to show off how far they can piss, yes.
Even if you don't wind up in a music camp, please consider that BRC could really use some strolling minstrels.

Hi Will!
Join some local groups. Cali's are here . . .
http://regionals.burningman.com/us_ca.html
You're in pretty much the Burner capital of the world, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding the like-minded . . .
Playa dust is very fine, like baby powder, and is very difficult to remove from nook & crannies, so don't bring any instrument you can't have cleaned (or better yet: better to think of it as your playa instrument for all eternity, really).
Like Elliot says, you can roam the city and play, or look for something structured in or out of a camp:

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me
