Yeah!..who knows...maybe if you are not let out of the cage( and I mean not once during the event) you would be considered a very appropriate art installation what with the events leading up to this years burn..a very compelling idea..someone should look into this...I'd go see that for sure..ummmm....unless I don't get a ticket.....does anyone know if there's any room left in that cage....put me in queue!!!

Can anyone post an excerpt from their step ticket email? I get a crapload of mail, junk included and want to be able to look specifically for that email every couple days. 12:09 for me and I know people around there are starting to get offers

Good Morning to all my STEP brothers and sisters!

I received an email this morning at 2 a.m. with an offer to buy 2 tickets at $320 each. YAY

My original time stamp on my confirmation email was 12:08:09.

Now just have to wait on my daughters but her time stamp is 12:19, it may be a while yet for hers but we have faith that she will be a STEP child too.

Keep your spirits up everyone, I have no doubt that we will all see each other in the dust this August...

Woo Hoo, Congrats. You can now have that STEP child t-shirt made;-) I am still hoping for tickets to trickle down to the higher time stamps. My hubby and several friends are still waiting for tickets.

Belated comment regarding catinthefunnyhat's question: You seem compassionate towards those who won't get tickets this year (don't know if you ware one of them). That's cool. While the notion of sharing the burn via live feed seems like a "play gift" of sorts, it encourages spectating rather than participating. If I had the choice, I'd put my energy into increasing capacity at my regional burn instead... encouraging participation is a better gift in my mind than creating yet another way for people to sit passive in front of a flat screen. Just my $.02.

I stand by it. "Well connected" is a choice and part of the planning. Making sure that you registered quickly for STEP is planning. Staying positive, keeping your head up and creating shit instead of naysaying and trolling is planning.

The choice is yours.

I read it as a statement about determination and resourcefulness, not depth of pockets or pure luck. 2/3 of those who entered the main sale didn't get tickets - those who plan, burn. They'll invest their time and energy into moving forward and checking with friends or looking around in the aftermarket. Some of them (by virtue of being determined and resourceful) may have benefitted from the directed ticket distribution thing, and others may have already or will at some point benefit from STEP.

From a question I asked:

"The emails regarding your ticket offer will be coming from [email protected]. If possible, I would configure your email to allow for all emails from @burningman.com so you can be sure you will not miss out on any information for this years burn or your specific tickets."

I've been PLANNING to burn since my friends came back from last year and enlightened me. I registered early in the lotto with high hopes, I put aside money, bought a vw bus to take out there, refreshed my page probably 1000 times trying to get into step and got :18. I regularily talk to those in the Reno burn community. One of my professors who is the most intelligent and amazing professor i've had at UNR, is looking for a ticket for me after her theme camp has enough for their members. 7 of my friends and myself do nothing but search for tickets with our free time. Burning man is my home and I will be going! Im very positive that I will burn. That being said, at a certain point of demand, burners will outburn the supply of tickets so much that it will be for SURE luck. Im not angry haha, its just that yes, if you happened to get through into step before me even though I literally refreshed 2 times per second, you got LUCKY haha. And im happy that you got lucky and get to go. Burn for me if I don't have the same luck! Although who knows.... fate has its ways! Im hopeful and I hope to see you all out there!

hang in there! I truly believe that most of us in the STEP program now will be offered tickets. My daughter is a 12:19 er. I really think this is the way she will get her ticket too. Although we are also putting feelers out in the community.

On Saturday 3/17 at 10am, I was notified of receiving a ticket through STEP @ $390.
