I finally got my bike out of storage Sunday and now it's raining cats and dogs. Got a couple of lights for it today. Will have to wait awhile before trying them out.

YAYYYYYYYYYYY!

My $12 ebay wig from China came today! IT LOOKS AWESOME! Much nicer quality than the ones at the wig shop (also from China) that they hawk for $80-150...

*happy dance* totally buying more from that seller.

Massive purchasing spree after finding the thermorest I wanted inexplicably marked down by $60 on Amazon.

So I got that, goggles, and a few other fun things.

Ordered my tarps. Reserved a bike. Finalized my shopping and packing lists.

Picked up another LED glow stick (Life Gear, free batteries for life with purchase) and a color morphing LED wheel light (Nite Ize) for the bike. Actually, both are for the bike; I want to get a strobe for it too, and another wheel light.

I bought some LED ribbon, some fairy berries (lights), and a funky branched strand of battery LED lights today to feed my obsession of new and awesome blinkys.

I also officially started my packing list for this year.

Oh yea, and bought fabric to start making a pirate coat for my Mister. He never wore any kind of costume (except a few Halloweens) before he met me & now I get to make him something new for each Burning Man. :o)

It was on ebay.ca and the seller was al_bies. They don't have much for sale, but the wig I got is still there, though the price has jumped a little to $19.

My strategy is to search "[colour] wig", with free shipping, and then search low to high price between $5 and $20. If the wig looks absolutely flawless in the photo(s), and I like the look of it, I give it a shot. It sure worked this time.

Bought this week:

1 pair of zip up Clark ankle boots. I have some big-heel, lace-up work boots that are super cool but sometimes I don't want to lace and unlace. Zippers work fine on the Playa if you keep some beeswax or a bar of soap handy to keep the zipper teeth lubricated.

These boots were on sale for $40 (reg @ $90) in case you're interested in a pair for yourself.

I bought another tent today (for my boys), a very nice piece of rope 8) and, some more blinky lights! I have become quite addicted to my silly little strings of color-changing LEDs that fade on and off and then blink madly in random patterns... like manic little xmas wreaths and so much fun! Perfect for my feather(less) boa. 8) Of which I can now make several. :D

Nice boots, EmilyD. I'm with you, lacing and unlacing boots gets to be a pain. Luckily I found the perfect pair boots for me last year. You can also use chapstick on zippers too. And woohoo on the blinky shiny lights, MDF.

I bet those Clarks are comfortable! The idea for chapstick on the zipper is a great one that we will use because you can keep it in your pocket and have it handy anytime. Today we drove 300 miles to Walla Walla, WA to pick up the totally stripped down 87 Bronco we bought to make into a MV and got it home safely:-) Even had to rent a nice truck to do it with!

In my Eplaya dictionary Elorrum MEANS clever. used in a sentence "Why Lillian that was very Elorrum of you."

Thank you everyone!

MDF, I have one of the North Pole shade party tents but I think I will also do a monkey hut. Monkey huts just seem more open and friendly than the party tent...

LOL, this made my day. If they are small enough, or are cats, you can pick them up grab a front paw and waltz about.

Sometimes those lights that go on sale have been sitting a while and the batteries can be less than optimal. The last set I bought had NiCd AA's in them, so I dropped them in an intellicharger and let them go through a refresh cycle on the lowest current setting before putting them into service. Still have the batteries though the roommates' dogs ate the lights. They were repurposed for a small led lantern.

At the very least test them out long before you head to the playa. We picked up 36 name brand (Westinghouse) lights at 2.00 each from wally mart last year and even on the sunniest days they would only stay lit for 1.5 hours. Needless to say we ended up returning them all.

We ended up with some 3.00 lights from the Depot that stayed lit all night on the playa.

We also fully charged them then placed a card to block the battery terminal so they wouldn't light and drain the batteries in transit. This allows for fully chgarged lights regardless of what time you set up camp.

Yay on getting tickets!!! Will be awesome to meet you!! I am buying mine Tuesday when my money from pay pal hits my bank account. SOOOO happy about being able to go home! I have a small list of stuff I still need to get then put away money for food/water/showe and gas for ride share. This is going to be the best year of my life so far. :)
