Re: howdy from Aus
We made into the waiting list for STEP
12:21pm PST - 07:28am EST
OMG emotions running high, I have faith in the program even thou I'm sure were at the tail end.
This has given me the hope that was fading fast. I am still going ahead with plans.
Looks like the Bride and Groom have a good chance to make our Playa Wedding.
Good Luck & I hope to See you amongst the dust.

Hey!
Another Aussie making the trip to BM this year.
I'm from Brisbane but just moved to Melbourne.
I'm flying solo from this end, meeting with my mates over there.

Another Aussie from Sydney coming, with my wife! (She's Japanese though!)
In line at 12:08:52 in STEP so hopefully securing a ticket soon!
How are you guys going about travelling there/camping/RV'ing etc?
Got all your plans sorted?
We are hiring a small 3 person RV out of San Diego and then driving up there

Hello all! I'll be heading over from Brisbane! I've only just got my ticket but it looks like I'm flying solo. If any burners in Brisbane, let me know! Cheers

CaptainDeet - we're three hours north of Brisbane. We get down that way frequently. May have to catch up prior to heading over.CaptainDeet wrote:Hello all! I'll be heading over from Brisbane! We're three coming from Newcastle (NSW), meeting up with 2 poms from Manchester, and our 6th from Reno.
...And we have to go to a wedding the day the 25th, fly out the 26th, then straight to BRC picking them up on the way on the 27th. bleh.

Hey everyone!
Not sure if anyone will come across this post, as the thread has been quite inactive for a few months now but I just wanted to chime in and introduce myself to some fellow Aussies!
I'm from Sydney and although I won't be heading to BM this year - my sights are set on BM 2013! Keen to meet anyone who will also be going next year (I know it's a while away but hey!).

When you live that far away, logistics are complicated enough that a few extra months might be warrented. Also, having friends can cut those down in various ways.

I know you don't know, but it's San Francisco, not San Fran...locals will appreciate it. Also, don't call it 'Frisco...I was corrected on this point once and don't want anyone else to suffer the shame...
Don't bore your friends with all your troubles. Tell your enemies instead, for they will delight in hearing about them.

Thank you, dragonpilot. It's funny, but it really is important to us.

Did anyone here go to the Aussies vs Brits ashes cricket match on Friday (during the whiteout)? If so, I have a few photos I took of the event. One of the blokes there wanted to get hold of one of the pics I took of him, so let me know!

I don't know if it would be cross posting, but maybe under something like Experiences at Burning Man, start a thread called "Aussies Vs Brits Cricket Match"jazfresh wrote:Did anyone here go to the Aussies vs Brits ashes cricket match on Friday (during the whiteout)? You might get a little more exposure and better chance of people finding you.
