I figured I would try out the "speculative & meaningless" numbers game that so many people in the ticket forum like. Now we can play 'burnier than thou' with a meaningless scoring system!

Well yes, but what about the length of your post? Does that have anything to do with the quality of what your post is spewing forth?

As long as I avoid zero content posts like '+1' I'm happy, or worse, less than zero, like a general demand for 'citations' with nothing relevant to say.

Many of the best posters on eplaya have a very low post count for myriad reasons.
Some just post in very specific areas.

Eplaya does have a very high rate of people that are online a lot, but seldom post.
I've met some of them and always wish they would post more.
It's nice to look at a thread and think 'nothing to add there'.

With eplaya being such a small forum anyway, and relatively few people posting, it isn't that hard to run up a post count.
On more active forums, there is less to say, because someone already said it.

Right now on eplaya, under a hundred online, 15 registered.

(Bearing in mind eplaya has been rebuilt a couple of times)

Gonzo keeps asking when he'll make it to "grizzled". I keep telling him he hasn't made it to "jaded" yet. You get that rank when you start asking yourself pre-event "why oh why do I keep doing this to myself?" Then pack your shit and find out why...again...once you get off the pavement.

ePlaya is a way to keep your hand in. The vets stick around to answer questions for the gazillionth time with grace and patience. Anyone can become a momentary hero if the post is good.
I was surfing the old posts just now, and it's amazing how many repeat threads there are. Why is it so difficult to peruse the threads before making a new one? It's especially annoying when someone only has a handful of posts to their name.

Or those posts that remind one of a tourist walking into a biker bar and ordering a banana daiquiri and complaining about the restrooms. Huh? And just don't talk to me about the "spirit of burningman".

I've met many people who've been out many years and then realize how amazing the BM project is when they go out with me on Poop Patrol.
