Try not to get all fucking worked up over that. Nobody really reads those things anymore. Middle management just does this to appease the upper management, and it's all out of some book on how to manage. They're just checking an item off their "Manage Employees" list. I have never seen anyone fired over one of these pathetic reports.

360 degree feedbacks are fairly common these days in corporate world. Just a tactic to keep middle management in line. It's hardly effective.
Usually managers are allowed to pick the employees who would provide them 360 degree feedback. No points for guessing that these are manager's favorites.
I have always stayed away from manager bashing or complaints during these reviews. IMHO, only makes things worse.
You can make an attempt at constructive feedbacks using nice, fancy, rosy words

Self-assessment forms are irritating. Like dropping a loaded gun on someone's desk. What the fuck are you supposed to do? Honey, does this dress make me look fat? Are you a good little employee?

I can't talk, since I got a very good assessment this year. It's still fucking irritating, though.

Thanks Dougly, I'm not getting fired cause they are writing them about me. I'm getting fired cause they know I'm not going to pull any punches about them. New CEO is all about accountability and for the first time in our history Managers/supervisors are being let go for employee mismanagement. My supervisor and manager tried to push a bogus disciplinary procedure against me and get my neck on the block. I filed an appeal. We've never had that privilege before. I actually got to talk one on one with the NEW hr manager and it looks like they are actually investigating. We will see. As I said this is all brand new at my company. Historically managers back their supervisors and hr backed managers. Employees had no voice. Our old CEO is now convicted of money laundering and a couple other felonies, we have a new board of directors, and a new CEO. It's all about duck and cover and find someone to blame right now. Our line workers very narrowly voted no on going union and when the union busters met with employees to see why we thought we needed a union I gave specific reasons. So, my supervisor/manager think i'm the bad guy badmouthing them. They do not understand that the majority of the people in our department are looking for jobs.

I am very gifted at teaching technical things to non-techie people. When I was hired we converted from the old VAX system to pc's. 75% of the company had never touched a mouse. I taught them. And it was glorious.I had so much fun and worked so hard. It slowly morphed into I.T. support role, and I've been trying to get back to a teaching role ever since. I am very good at teaching adults. No training, no degree, no certs. Just a 52 year old living in a rural area (i work at a electric coop), where most jobs pay squat. Our little county is consistently in the lowest 10/15 counties in the state in rate of pay, but the top 10/15 for cost of living. To get a comparable paying job I'd have to drive 2 1/2 hours one way. Golden handcuffs. I have been applying at places and would be willing to drive, but i'm competing against people with Master's degrees. 52 years old. No Degree. No certifications (though I am working on some).

It's a big mess. Oh and Fuck.

Also, may I suggest, stop being critical of yourself and really sit down and see what you've done for this company. Create a detailed and comprehensive report/list of the projects you've been integral to, the things you've personally improved, the specific monetary contribution you've made to the upkeep and improvement (for instance the training you did) of the company. For example, when I did this I listed that I set up a way for us to do HR paperwork online versus sending out individual fed-exes to each new employee. But I didn't leave it at that. I looked up how many employees and therefore fed-exes we'd sent the previous year, created an estimate based on current hiring numbers and was able to list a savings of over $20,000 for the company that year based on that one simple task I'd completed and no one else had thought of. Companies want to see the bottom line. Give it to them in hard cash. Make them see you are worth the money they pay you. Every year as part of my review I would list a specific cash amount of what I had saved the company with the different things I had done or implemented. I basically showed every year that I was paying my own salary with the money I saved the company. My boss cried when I left on disability. And still hasn't found a replacement for me almost a year later. There is nothing wrong with bring properly critical of yourself and showing where you can still continue to grow and learn but don't forget to show how awesome you are too. Because you are

So my cobra medical premiums are going up by $100/month. The deductible is becoming $500, they added a 10% co-insurance, my co-pay is going from $20 to $45. My meds are going from $10 to $30. So my total monthly costs for premium, meds, and doctor visits are going to be over $1000/month. The epidurals I need in order to walk will now cost me $500. None of which I can afford. I only get paid $1700/month in disability. That barely covers my bills. I'm boned. I hate you America and your insurance companies are ruining everyone's life. My family is literally the only bright spot in my life right now. I am trying hard not to just break down and start screaming and give the fuck up. But I owe better than that to my man and my son. So I guess I keep going and figuring it the fuck out. FUCK.

Oh and I couldn't get a tick to Burning Man. Due to scheduling conflicts I can't go to Transformus. Because now all my money will be spent on medical costs I can't fly out to San Fran and go to Camp Tipsy. I'm aware there are other regionals but I know nothing about them or anyone in my area that attends and due to my health can't plan things on my own anymore. Losing my independence has been the worst thing about my disability. I probably won't be able to do anything burner related this year and I feel like it is just contributing to the death of my soul.

I am on long term disability that I signed up for and paid for through a private company when I worked. (If you do not have disability insurance get it now, it will save your ass if you ever can't work. Also pay for it after taxes if you can, not as a pre-tax benefit. This means if you ever have to use it, the income you receive is non-taxable. That has saved my butt too.) I have applied for SSDI but that could take years. Until I am approved for that I will not get Medicare. And as long as I qualify for cobra I don't qualify for medicaid. Also I'd rather shoot my foot off than be on medicaid. I know from my best friend's experiences that it is horrible. Medicare is not much better. I also don't think it's right that I have had to default on all my bills, use my money to pay for meds, and have nothing left over to live off of. Welcome to America. At least I'm here and getting care rather than a third world country where I'd already be dead. At least I am getting care and not one of the poorer Americans suffering with none or on the street.

Its one of those days where one gets pulled in all directions. It all comes down to lot of stuff going on (mostly good stuff) but at times even that can be stressful.
Then I go to my fucking violin lessons and cant play anything worth a damn in front of the teach because my mind is exhausted.

Over the last 12 days, here's my fuck......

Sister calls, her mom, my step mom, falls and breaks hip left unfound for 3 days...goes to hospital. Has
emergency surgery, doesn't do well coming out. She lives in Vegas, I was on my way to Vegas anyway for
a conference. In between sessions I visit mom in hospital, shes doing fucking awesome, despite what sissy
says. Sister and I get into huge fight in hallway. She goes to ER, I go with the cops. No charges pressed, thank
gawd. But royally pissed at sissy.
Come home to a wrecked house, where my HunnyBunny hasn't done a fuckin thing around the house,(ie; dishes and
such)
Our dog is very ill, and had to make a decision to put her down. Fuck!! 11 yrs.old

Now tonight, my sons dog got into and ate the fuckin wall insulation, ate a mop, a stick, bloody mary mix, charcoal,
rawhide he stole from neighbors, a plastic bag, and mouse decon.

They are currently at the vets, now will know more later.
