What's the deadline for purchasing the allotment? Isn't it soon?

Re: How will your theme camp distribute tickets?
For those fortunite enough to be awarded tickets, the time passed about 8 hours ago. Now any non claimed tickets are part of STEP. Suffice it to say, BDC&WB had no tickets going into STEP. As I will mention in the next newsletter, we had about 20 people who needed them who were simply out of luck. But I believe the BMOrg did about as good a job as they could. Oh I know there will be all sorts of you who disagree, and I'm fine with that. I have no "in" with them; hells belles, I doubt they even know who I am. Our modest camp did it as fairly as I can imagine, and I left myself out of it. And dare I say all's well that end's comparatively speaking well. I guess.

Today, I found out about a theme camp that was allocated tickets are turning around and selling the tickets above top tier prices. But only to those that can offer goods and services that can benefit the camp.

And the name of the camp if you know this for a fact?
Those who think they can and those who think they can't are both right.

At the very least they can investigate it.

Maybe they are just adding on the camp dues to the cost of the ticket.

Re: How will your theme camp distribute tickets?
It's important to remember that the directed ticket distribution program is intended to help camps cover their core/essential campmates' needs, and not to be offered as new member enticements, and certainly not sold for a profit. Tickets from the directed ticket distribution program were all sold at $390, and came to $409 each after all applicable fees. Any camp with ticket allocations need to be very clear in keeping ticket costs and dues costs separate. Remember, Burning Man does reserve the right to cancel the sale of any tickets purchased with the intention of selling above face value. Placement could also choose to take their own actions, which could possibly include losing placement and ticket allocations.

The Directed Ticket Allotment is a gracious gesture by the Borg to compensate for the unintended consequences of the lottery. Any abuse of these precious tickets is reprehensible in my opinion and should be not only discouraged, but bare dire consequences.

Re: How will your theme camp distribute tickets?
We have a small core and two were supposed to have won the lottery, but we found out at the last minute that they were only sold one ticket, making them ineligible for STEP as well. We were awarded tickets presuming that they would be able to buy two, and so I had to decide who got left hanging. We're not too worried; it doesn't accomplish anything. But the rest of us are working as a group to get the last camp member a ticket. As soon as we do, three people will remove themselves from STEP and get out of line. It's only April.
