relaity is beyond

Why are there not ball-barbers?

Women have bikini wax, I am tired, oh
so tired of shaving they are too large
my blades grow dim & dull tugging.

Ok, I don't usually do this, but those pan-arab superstar finalists are, well, damn fine.

Ammar Hasan and Ayman al-Aatar...

of course, if it's anything like Eurovision, the music is crap.
Anyone else remeber Fabrizio Faniello, by the way? No? Probably just as well......

Hello everyone. My name is Kylie. I've been lurking around for awhile. I haven't posted since last year, when everyone left. I don't recognize a lot of your names now, maybe some of the "Oldtimers" will check in after the Burn.
I'm leaving on Weds, just a few hours drive for me, here in Reno. I hope the weather improves, it's cold here, so it must be even colder out there. This is my 3rd year, can't wait to go home...

Thanks for reading.

"'Words are like onions,' she said. 'The more skins you peel off, the more meanings you encounter. And when you start discovering multiplicities of meanings, then right and wrong becomes irrelevant. All these questions...are fine and good, but there will always be more to be discovered.'"

from Fatima Mernissi's Dreams of Trespass

quite interesting, for me:
harem derives from the word haram (forbidden) which in turn is the opposite of halal (permissible) (Think halal meats, much like kosher to my understanding.) A house can be called the harem because it's private. And Mecca is also called Haram because it has strictly codified rules.

Also, qa'ida means invisible rules.

Off I Go.........

Post by maeabee » Sat Aug 28, 2004 4:17 pm

Well it's that time of season when I go off to linger in the wind on the playa, in Black Rock City. I will be gone from August 30 to September 6. I will go home for a week to challenge my mind, body and spirit. I will indulge in endless wanders of knowledge and creativity. I will explore all media with an open mind. I will carelessly flaunt my eager to become a new person. I will emerge from a cocoon I have longed to be free from. An opening in the clouds to shine through. I hope to challenge the masses and sustain a forever gift of acceptance. I will be home in Black Rock City 2004.

One entry found for blasé.

Main Entry: bla·sé
Pronunciation: blä-'zA
Variant(s): also bla·se
Function: adjective
Etymology: French
1 : apathetic to pleasure or excitement as a result of excessive indulgence or enjoyment

Credit Merriam Webster Online Dictionary.

Here I thought blase was the dual of blouse
that he were petting some titty.

that fun is played out
surely he feels no suction
off the playa floor

made me sad to read
there are no titties in LA

Mostly I blame the French.

It is thier word, after all, to decribe a state similar to how it feels when one hits oneself with a hammer repeatedly (will not stop) but make it all romatical. Freaking a-holes.

Just kidding about the French.

Oh, and Mister Rick.... on feeling down?

Often you are the high point in anothers day. You lift spirits.

Please do not be offended at my affrontery to suggest that you recall that each low will never surrmount tommorows high. It will come, just as sittng on a pew waiting for Mass to be over I thougth it would never freakign end, and my parents did not let us move much less talk so my little brother Erik & I invented a game wherein we would stare at a light bulb to make a bright blind spot in our each own vision, then quickly look about buring as many forward seated parishiomers in the back of head game? And knowing when the other had left the game by our sheer integrety to another? Did you ever get so bored that you just do not know what to do?!

Well, tommorrow will bring another day, and though I suffered greiviously low (mental.. no worries, mate!) on Monday, Septemer 13, today was in fact much better that it is not even on the same sacle as yesterday were.

Which brings me around to ask you, it seems I do remember, that Trey & you both have birthdays right around September 29 (mine!), and here you exhibit a low day just as mine does nearly bottom.

About a year ago I wondered if my moods were swayed by the moon.
It was immediately apparent to me that I should not then know whent he moons cycles were, but ditifully log simply "Low" on my annual calendar.. not even checking it for that year.

Well, the year is up, and here I find that without exception it was always (though not every month a "low") between the last quaters end and the new moons rise.

See ya on the funny pages!

Or how to spell.

No actual parishoners were harmed in the making of my movie.

Anyways, I have not always had Erik around. That fucker. Where did he go... that's right, to Tigard, Oregon. I bet HE is French! Probably eating big jumbo blueberries & laughing it up, staring at a street-light or smashing peoples tiny heads like they did in a recurrent "Kids on the Block" skit.

Sigh.

Carry on, and HAVE FUN!!! Then carry on some more@!

I, on the other hand, refuse to blame the French for anything. After all, they invented French kissing, didn't they? That alone grants them immunity in my book. Plus, this one time at BurningMan, outta nowhere this stunningly beautiful French woman walked up to me and threw her arms around me and held me tightly for about 30 seconds. She slowly stepped back while smiling a beguiling 'French' sort of smile (that's how I think of it) and looked deeply into my eyes; then her sarong chose that moment to fall to the dust...

True story. How could I feel any other way about the French?

On the other hand:

This year I had two French neighbors out by walk-in. I love international burners, but these two gave off a weird vibe... They could both speak English but almost always chose to speak French. They'd mosey over to my shade shelter, and the woman would ask a question: I'd answer, and then they'd discuss it in French; then walk away saying nothing else. They seemed secretive and I thought it strange. Then I came to hear how they both got busted by the BLM for snorting coke off the trunk of their Volvo. It all started to make sense...

Still, I can't blame the French.

ahh, yes, here it is.....

It's Just Weird...

I put my hands in front of my face and I see through them,
I tell myself I'll be fine, but I'm lying,
I read the paper but the news is just data,
I hear the music and feel the beat and there is movement,
I translate what I want to you and them, but it's too late,
I walk, and walk, and walk, and I always end up here.
I try to change clothes, but it's always a shirt and a pair of pants.
I stretch, and yawn, and roll, and shake, but I don't feel better.
I talk, and talk, and talk, and talk, but all I say is words.
I shake your hand, and nod in agreement, but I'm not listening.
You pay me, I pay you, we clear the books, but no one is winning.
I put my hands over my ears, and the sound changes, It's just weird.

Marijuana Smoker Beheads Two Women

BLANTYRE, Malawi (Reuters) - A Malawian man believed to be high on marijuana beheaded two women with an axe Friday, police in the southern African country said.

The man, in his mid-20s, beheaded a 52-year-old woman while she worked in her garden with her daughter and did the same to a 68-year-old friend who came to the daughter's aid, police spokesman Kelvin Maigwa told Reuters.

"The unsuspecting woman greeted the stranger who, instead, threw the axe at her, aiming at the chest," Maigwa said.

He said police found marijuana, or hemp, when they searched the suspect's home.

"The house was full of stench from recently smoked hemp. We believe he had an overdose of the hemp that made him go berserk," Maigwa said, adding that the walls of the house bore quotations from famous reggae songs.

Police have launched a manhunt for the killer, who fled into the bush after the attacks.
