I am just too full of happy to keep it bottled up! On Monday Fuck Yeah was awarded the LA Weekly annual theater award for fight choreography (second award for him this season). Getting to go to the Hollywood event and see him go onstage to accept was a Mom's dream come true. The award show was a toga themed event and I was surprised how many theater people did not wear costumes - we were a group of 4 burners so we were togaed up......

Ah sweet Dougly! I've been watching nickjr with Lillian and it does heal my soul. I want to get all the old muppet variety shows on dvd and only allow that for a while.

and the best news, for the first time in many months, i actually SLEPT last night. All night. From the time I put my head on the pillow until Ken's alarm went off and I got up to make him lunch. It's amazing what sleep will do for you.

Espressodude brought the God of Hellfire flame effects up to the compound today for test firing. The neighborhood fuckwit manifested the cops on his doorstep last time he did it at his house.
The test was a resounding success!!!

Tomorrow I get to meet my bestie's new boyfriend!!!
She's bringing him up to shoot summa mah guns. I finally get to sit down with him and a bunch of guns and ask him just what the fuck his intentions are :D

Our local burner group, Portland Burners, hit the 1,000 member mark. I'd been joking for months that when we hit 1,000 we get cake. It was an abstract joke, meaningless, until we actually hit the mark. I decided we really should get cake so I determined to do so at our next gathering. We gather each Tuesday night at a bar in the city and call it Woosday.
I went up to hang out with Espressodude and Helga yesterday afternoon and the three of us went to the local grocery store bakery to score a sheet cake. I wanted the cake to say "Eat It, Bitches" but we didn't think the bakery would go for that. Espressodude volunteered to decorate it himself...

Mmmmm! cake!!
I might have to make it to woosday this week.

My first test of the flame poofer for The Beast was around midnight on sunday. The neighbor called the police and when the first officer showed up he mentioned that I should operate it again so he could you know "make sure it's safe" and he asked if we could wait for his partner. After about half an hour the whole department was in the parking lot. We waited another ten minutes for the police cheif to show up and I fired it up for a demonstration as well as fired up the Beast and walked a few paces. They all lined up shook my hand and thanked me for the demo. As they left the parking lot the neighbor stopped the last officer and complained, so the officer came back and said I almost forgot to tell you for future referance try and keep testing before 9 pm thanks.

I would consider this a successful test.
