Depends where you're coming from... The drive is mostly highway for 99% of burners, the playa is hard pack and dust, and is easily negotiated by most 2wd vehicles.
IF, however, you're the <1% that comes in by way of Vya (north), Winnemucca via Jungo (East), or Susanville via the backroads (W), then 4wd is preferred. That and a couple spare tires. I may be making the journey forst time by one of these backroads this year... looking forward to it!

Welcome to ePlaya! As Sue mentioned though, it's difficult to try and answer your question without knowing where you're coming from. The "from the cradle of the burn" in your subject line could mean pretty much anything. Some view that as Baker Beach in San Francisco, while others point to various other festivals and events throughout history.

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

I was in The City today and had a chance to stop at Baker Beach. It's a good thing we moved-The view is nice but parking sucks.trilobyte wrote:The "from the cradle of the burn" in your subject line could mean pretty much anything. Some view that as Baker Beach in San Francisco,
