RIP Lt Willy, my Lt. when I was on a VFD. Lost his 16 yr old son last year of a cardiac arrest, and fell victim to it himself at age 49 last Thursday morning. I say he died of a broken heart. Father and Son, together again.

I am delighted that my husband has a job that he loves for a boss who appreciates him. But I have never lived anywhere but Oregon and I'm scared.

Not sure what part of La he is working, but try to stay outside of the city limits, up north on 5 fwy a bit, is Valencia..more of a small town fill then in the city. Also north on the 101 you get into Ventura county, also less hetic then in the city. Both places will give you about a 45 min commute into town.

I hate LA,but work keeps me here and you can find a decent community outside of the city,good luck..

I feel fucking silly complaining about it... The CO has an amazing, well-paying job that makes him happy. My girls are grown and don't need me as much. But, I have a network of amazing friends in Oregon. Not to mention my belly dancers and fire conclave. I like being a big fish in a little pond.

The flipside is that this is an adventure. I've never lived anywhere but where I live now so, maybe it's fucking time.

fuck. came to my mom's to take her dog to the vet, and she's totally out of it. making speaking sequences of words that don't make sentences. called hospice, and they are sending someone to "assess" She's never been quite like this except right after surgery on pain meds. oh man. she left the phone off the charger, so I can only make short calls, and then wait and hope there's enough power to receive. I can go down to the desk to make calls if I need to, but this sort of sucks, and I'm not really scared, but have a sinking feeling. poor mom. FUCK.
