/OpenDiscussion newb here...where I hope all the trolls and bluntness are.
I'd usually be in /ThemeCamp with something to talk about, but I'm stuck. Where do I post about a BM Events web-app that I'm making?
I'm burning this year, but no fucking theme camp. I'm doing this website thing instead.
What eplaya thread/sub-forum is appropriate for geek talk (or heckling)?
I'm assuming here...
1 sentence pitch:
the project is burnerevents.com and it's simple: you first build a schedule for yourself from all of the official WhatWhereWhen events going down at The Burn - then you print it out on paper and bring it with you.
ok ok, that's not it. You can also add events (like DJ sets) and see who and how many people are signed up for a given event. It's like the "who" to the WWW guide.
What doth the mob think?! Any feature requests?
(or is this already done somewhere?)

"Open discussion" is usually considered to be things that are not directly burningman related. (Although the event often crops up.) A lot of social, hanging around is done here.
I could see it in "Experiences at Burningman" or at "Tips and Tricks, Q and A". Both those subforums are perrenials so the information would be there for next burn. Or you could put it in 2012 "Art & Performance" because next year, if you do this, it will be new and improved, as it were. At this point, I wouldn't start a third thread: we can get militant about cross-posting. But the mods can move this to a sub forum that they find more appropriate, and even merge the two existing threads. Or if nothing happens in a few days, go ahead and start a new one.

ugh, so this can't even fly in something as open as "open discussion"??
Moderators, the gods have spoken, please move this post to "Tips and Tricks" and I can rework the whole pile of sticky mess

Open Discussion is fine. Sorry that I didn't make that clear. I just answered the question I thought was asked. If you look around, you'll see that a lot of stuff could belong to more than one sub forum. We're (that is the grizzled elders of the board) adept at keep ing track of what interests us, without much reference to any particular spot.

I would be interested in something like this. Thank you for thinking of it and putting in the work.
People are pretty distracted with tickets etc still. Hard to get much interest going on other topics. The closer we get to burn time, things start ramping up in here. Bump this again in June.

There's an iPhone app for that.

Is there an andriod app? I don't own anything apple. Not that I have anything against them, but It just hasn't worked out that way. Plus I like the screen on my chromebook for things like this. I can see things better etc. I'd love to be able to plan and sort and print. Of course, once I get out there and the magic starts happening all bets are off.

There are a couple smartphone apps out there, plus assorted additional apps that do camp listings, DJ listings, etc. If you haven't already done so, you'll probably want to do some digging around or talk to other developers to figure out how/where to get the what/where/when guide info or how the API works.
