Low Income Application Denied

Hello all!
Long story short- I have been denied a low income ticket. I filled out the form and submitted it with my w-2 that showed my income to be less than 10,000 dollars (is that not broke enough?). I did all this within the first twenty minutes after they opened the program up. I have friends that applied well after me that were awarded low income tickets. I have been to Burning Man twice and it has profoundly changed the course of my life for the better. The reason I'm coming on here to whine a little is because I am broke. I proved it. I was one of the first to turn in my application. So what I'm getting at is that the folks who run the low income program simply judged me negatively and decided I didn't deserve a ticket. Think about that though- they judged me. It goes against all of the beautiful principles that I have learned from and witnessed at Burning Man. It really has broken my heart and is making me realize that there are indeed ugly politics involved behind the scenes and it is making me rethink my perception of Burning Man as being a pure and innocent temporary society. I am sorry that you did not get your low income ticket.

There are a burners with wads of cash in their hands that also did not get tickets.

There are only so many tickets. Not everyone is going to go, yah, even those who apply for low income tickets. That is the new reality.

Burning Man was better last year anyway. This year the cabal has lost control and many of us got screwed over as far as having any shot at tickets because of it.

Since I'm posting I'll just say what's on my mind and that of quite a few others: I wonder if Andie Grace is truly leaving the LLC to follow her heart as she allegedly says or if she's falling on the proverbial sword because of the ticket fiasco?

I happen to like Andie, she's one of the ones that has always been civil to me back in the dark days while others have been anything but. She has my respect...respect which has been earned.
I asked the question because as I said, it is being discussed and if she's being made to take the fall then I hope it comes out. She's been the face of the LLC in many people's eyes for so long that the idea of Burning Man without her...is going to be kinda strange.

The knife and axe grinding comments were good even if they are clueless. By the way if anyone knows where to find a good mezzaluna that has nothing to do with Giada and is made stateside...sorry, tangent, back to the topic.

First in line doesn't mean a thing. They have to read all of the applications, anyway, that's what I was told. I just went down to HQ and bribed all the people who mattered. I got my ticket!!
