Assuming these are as bright as last year's - are you sure only 1920 leds will be enough?

Scored a golf cart today. :D A 36 volt Harley 3 wheeler for $200.00. Wheels, body, both seats good. Top canvas needs sewing repair. 3 of the 6 batteries are bad. Came with charger. It's a heavy mother in the back, it took 4 guys to lift it onto my small trailer. When I get it charged up I can just drive it up a ramp. I have a 1k generator to charge on Playa , If I can't hook up to BRC grid somewhere. I've already applied for disability sticker to go with my placard. Time is short if I want to mutate it and send in some photos with the mutant application next week...DMV letters usually come out in August I am told. Even if I get a disability sticker, I will still mutate it and hope to get a mutant sticker too. I can give a ride to one person since it's a 2 seater. Department of Mobility?

I'm thinking of just a simple egg (ovum) shape, or a cell replicating (Mae West) shape. I go to see Doctor Kimberly tomorrow, perhaps she has some literature...

Truth be told, I end up switching the suit on and off through the night. It's primarily for when I'm walking across open playa at night.. which is my #1 hobby. I love just walking from art installation to art installation to Robot Heart to art installation to random dark spot to ?????????? throughout the night while *intoxicated. Being able to actually add to the overall night landscape and be visible from all over the playa is.. quite.. rewarding.. to say the least. I love it. :D

Illy Dilly, I got the buggy from a guy in a trailer park. He needed to pay some bills and put an ad on _Craigslist. The park was on the Sacramento River at Woodson Bridge, North of Chico,California. Most carts around my area have been going for close to a grand, I jumped at the deal. quote: " Can I buy your Harley Davidson golf cart,.... Please ?"

36 divided by 6 is 6. 6 volt Lead core batteries that went dead came from a national tire store...I am now going to look for 6 matching Lithium/ Hydride(?) deep cycle batteries, not starting ones...

That is awsome!
I check our local, Denver, Craigslist for Golfcarts, Go-peds, and Go-carts about twice a week. Eventually I'll find just the right vehicle, for just the right price.
Oddly, I've looked at some of the golf carts I've seen on craigslist, and it would be cheaper to buy and old Honda. Though, hauling a golf cart to BRC would be cheaper than hauling a Honda.

Can you describe what kind of fabric is used? Is it like tent fabric or is it some kind of tarp? Vinyl?

There are several different types of flexible adhesives that you could use to patch it up, including silicone, cements, urethane or some 3M spray adhesives. I think the flexibility would allow the fabric to withstand the wind better.

good blinkies. the eveready ones are neat because they have a regular white flashlight end, and then the tube is colored, or colored flashy. neat.

As a side note, my BudK catalog lists the LR44/AG13/357 (they're all the same battery, just not standardized to one number yet) button batteries for those things 50 pack for $5.99 and last I checked the sticks take three of them.

$2.42 (Orig $4.84)! I have 2 lifegear ones i got from ebay for bit more money, but i know they last a really long time (they have free lifetime batteries too i think). i hope these do just as well! Energizer is a good brand so they should.

Have you tried those batteries? I'm kinda curious since many of the really cheap bulk pack LR44's have such a bad reputation.

I just paid about 25.00 including shipping for 80 of them from a supplier I know has good ones, but would be thrilled to drop the cost if I could find an alternate source.

I go through about 8 batteries a week in my poi and that would be a substantial savings.

Don't know anything about them. Other than I assume about a third of them may be weak. I found the exact same pack of batteries on amazon for less than $3, with shipping comes to $7 ish I think it was. There were two reviews, one good, and one claiming that half the batteries were weak. Rather doubtful someone's going to sit there and test fifty batteries. But if you're running through batteries that fast, it couldn't hurt to give them a whirl at that price point. Worst to worst you can give them away to folks with dead batteries in their glow sticks. I haven't ordered them yet, but my LED poi will be coming from Flowtoys, and they use the AAA NiMHs I already have.

I found a portable camp stool for $12 that's small enough to fit in a back pack, even a purse! If it holds up that could come in handy in my day to day life as well.

I sunbathed nude yesterday for the first time. (Alone, in my folks backyard while they're away)

I know it doesn't sound like BM prep work, but as I'm pale as a ghost, I have to work my way up to some color.

I was able to spend a little time working outside and getting some sun this weekend as well. Saturday for a couple hours shirtless while I worked on the van (boring, but keeping the van running's essential to getting to the playa :D), then Sunday was out walking about town in the utilikilt.

Aside from getting some of the work done on the van, we've gotten a few things recently.
Image

In the background is a yard square of color chart fabric that we got from Spoonflower. This way we've got a clearer idea of how designs in the computer will translate to fabric when working on projects that call for custom fabric. Then we also picked up all the paint & supplies we'll need for the murals at camp as well as a couple other projects. Picked up a bit more vodka, too, but that's just good to have around the house  Not pictured is the canvas (ordered online, but should arrive with plenty of time before we have a camp painting party), a bunch of colored electrical tape to use for marking the various poles and fittings for the four main structures I'm building, and then a 4'x8' sheet of luan, which I've cut down into smaller pieces for use with the laser cutter at my local tech shop.

I tried fixing the roof on my buggy but the rubberized fabric has shrunk and all the seams are about to go, so covered it temporarily with a patio table cover. I checked the 6 batteries but 5 are good and hold a charge. I'm charging one of the 6, by series crossing two 6 volt batteries with a 12 volt auto charger. I'll find out tomorrow morning if i have to replace it. It is an old Trojan T-105. I went to Batteries Plus in Yuba City to price batteries Friday. Single 6 volt deep cycle was $127 each or 6 for $119 each. $714 for a new full set.. Maybe later... If I can charge the T, I can save $127. The onboard charger is 36 volts, but if one of the batteries is dead then no charging in series occures.
