Looking to meet people in Philly and San Francisco

I live close to the Philly PA area now.. I am hoping to find some online communities to meet some people as I am new to Philly. I am also thinking about moving to San Fran in a year or so and I am looking to meet people there. Anybody know of some good online resources for Philly / San Fran as far as message boards or forums or what not? I just want to meet other people who want to have fun and hang out.
