Hello ePlaya!
Hello ePlaya!
Hello all! So good to finally post. My name is Ryan, and 2012 will be my third burn, consecutively. I've been following ePlaya since my first burn, but this is the first time I've had to reach out for assistance. I'm lucky enough to have recieved a ticket in the lottery, but my usual camp mates were left in the dark. Disembodied, I'm attempting to use this as a chance to reach out to new people. I would love to provide help in an undermanned camp or art project, or maybe offer my help to a camp of Burgins... I'll be posting in the Share Resources forum also, but I thought it would be good to start here.
P.S. Thank you all for being here! This is such a great resource for that survival event we keep going to... Everything I needed to make it through my first burn comfortably came from you helpful, awesome, snarky, passionate people... So thank you!

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Re: Hello ePlaya!
Problem solved! I've started contact with the Black Rock Beacon, hopefully will be camped and working there. Ask and you shall receive...
Anyhoo, hello all you wonderful burners!
Illy dilly, I live in Colorado, just a little bit west of yourself. (I've seen your posts, I'm not stalking you, I swear).
Now that I've gotten the help I needed, I'm going to do by best to be active on here, do what I can to help Burgins looking for info. That way I have an excuse to come to the Meet and Greet...
!! 131 short, short days...!!

Welcome.
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

My girlfriend accused me of stalking her the other day...well, she's not exactly my girlfriend...yet.Constant_ wrote:Illy dilly, I live in Colorado, just a little bit west of yourself. (I've seen your posts, I'm not stalking you, I swear).
Don't bore your friends with all your troubles. Tell your enemies instead, for they will delight in hearing about them.

As soon as the restraining order expires, though, you've got plans...dragonpilot wrote:My girlfriend accused me of stalking her the other day...well, she's not exactly my girlfriend...yet.Constant_ wrote:Illy dilly, I live in Colorado, just a little bit west of yourself. FUCK YEAH!!!!!Constant_ wrote:Illy dilly, I live in Colorado, just a little bit west of yourself.
How do you plan to get to BRC? There is a good chance that we will have a box truck, and a car, but only two seats in the car filled, and all the gear in the box truck.
I wouldn't worry too much about it, that shits common around here.Constant_ wrote:(I've seen your posts, I'm not stalking you, I swear).

Plus it can be pretty helpful when you need an alibi. Who better to call for photo and video proof of where you were than your stalker.

That's actually a brilliant argument for stalking...illy dilly wrote:SEE^^^^Savannah wrote:That's my job.

"I'm repeatedly validating your whereabouts just in case I have to testify in court. And I have to do so from these bushes... With my pants off..."
Aaaanyway...
I have no idea how I'm getting there, really... I started looking into Amtrak, which seems pretty affordable... But I hadn't made plans yet, so if there's a seat open, I'd love to claim it! My playa gear is down to a pretty minimalistic pile, so I won't take up much space... Plus, I'm skinny, so you could literally stuff me into a glove compartment and I'd be peachy...
Ooooh, Illy Dilly, if you get me home, you'll be my hero!
and iiiiiii-eeee-iiiiiii-eeeeee-iiiiii will always love yooooo-hoooooo!
.... too soon?
P.S. Hello everyone! And thank you for the greetings! I think I may be stalking a few of you, though... As I mentioned, I've been reading ePlaya for a few years, so it's sort of weird to actually be in touch with the people behind the curtain... Just sayin'...

Re: Hello ePlaya!
We'll have to see how things go.
If we get placed, we'll have to take box truck and a car. And currently, that car will only have 2 people in it.
Since we will be taking a box truck, there is a decent amount of space for peoples personal stuff.
Last year our rule general rule of thumb for person belongings was:
Each person is allowed to load:
1 bike
2 rubbermaids(aka giant Tupperware) or a suite case of a similar size
1 Big duffel bag
1 Tent
1 Sleeping bag
1 air mattress or coat, or what ever the fuck you're sleeping on
1 or 2 folding chairs
This list does not include things that were for the overall camp. Such as grills, kitchen gear, dome decorations, etc.
