GOT 'EM!!!!!!!!!! Got a pair at $420 a piece. I can't believe it finally happened! :D

I've been lurking around on this thread for weeks looking for evidence of movement in the queue, and my number finally came up! I got my STEP confirmation at 3:09:42 PM EST back in early March. (I know some of you guys think that the time stamps are bullshit, but I don't, especially now!) My brother managed to get a pair, and now I can definitely join him at the big dance.

I got breathless and felt like throwing up when I got my email confirmation. But since I live in Pennsylvania and nobody knows what the fuck Burning Man even is, and since it's so complicated to explain to laypeople what we've all been going through with this ticket insanity, I pretty much had to lie to my coworkers about my excitement in the interest of brevity. As far as they're concerned, I just won 4th row tickets to the KISS concert in Pittsburgh.

Seriously, all my best hopes and wishes to everyone sitting-on-ass in the STEP queue waiting for the miracle to come. All of his really sucks, but I genuinely think that all remaining are very well-positioned to get tix. Good luck everyone!! :)

Congrats man! I'm glad to hear that. I hope that 09 is almost over! Each person to get tix is good new though, and keep in mind everyone that the Eplaya population is far below that of the actual event

Amazing that the local rag even mentioned Burning Man a couple times. I like it, kinda a regional, but not a regional, just some artists from the Burner community without BMORG involvement. Cool!

Ah I see about the will call situation... but I don't understand why tickets can't go out later... sending in June seems like a bad idea. STEP will have no chance once they go out.

.... which means I highly doubt we will be attending because we are so far down the line.

It's all a matter of perspective. As a stepchild, I would love to see a delay in the distribution of hard tickets. However, I have friends that didn't get into step and they surely want hard tickets shipped sooner. They hope that once hard tickets are shipped, it will become easier to find tickets in our local community, which is their only realistic chance of getting to the playa.

I am kind of hoping they don't send out hard tickets and everything becomes will call. I bet STEP gets flooded with tickets at that point. But that is just me day dreaming and hoping for my friends that need tickets.

Remember VK that there will be plenty of overseas burners who have to pick up their tickets at will call. And most likely there will be those from distant lands who find they cannot go and hopefully resell back through STEP (this seems like the easiest/safest solution for them). It will be open until Aug 7th...all is not lost!

You are right on. If the bmorg is smart and thinks well about this decision, they will send the tickets out in mid july to allow for easy last minute ticket exchange among burners via the step program. This also means that scalpers will get their tickets in late july and only have august to dump them on the market. And burners who got tickets will still have them over a month in advance to allow for personal ticket transfers and ticketing problems

HA! Those guys in Pittsburgh are almost more into Playa Del Fuego that the real deal. There's somewhat of a Burner pulse out there, but it's pretty faint.

I'm actually looking for a camp for my brother, his gf, myself, and one other person, beachbum. Still high from winning tickets. We're only now beginning to plan our projects.

It would be really special if all the STEP children could come together for some sort of celebration on the playa, and maybe do something to honor those who made our attendance possible.

Anyone know if there's anything like that being planned?

My friend got two STEP tickets, so we're going! If I get mine, I'm going to make sure they get to our theme camp members who don't have tickets yet. His time was 12:10 pm, at $390 each, for those who are interested. :) See you on the Playa!

Am I missing something here? I have noticed a few posts indicating that STEP tickets are being given to others that don't have tickets. I thought STEP tickets were non-transferable. :?

I suppose I am just being a selfish stepchild because I don't like to see tickets intended for STEP ultimately bypass those in the STEP line. Regardless, congrats curveyburner! :D

Hmmm...good point about the non transferable tix...I do believe that the majority of our theme camp is in the STEP program...but I believe you're right. The STEP tix ARE non-transferable. http://eplaya.burningman.org/viewtopic. ... 90&t=55126

i believe if you registered for more than one, you can transfer one of those to another person and that has to be done at will call. so if you're not travelling together the person who's names are on the tix has to be there first to do the transfer. But I don't know if a single person with 1 STEP ticket can transfer or not,

A lovely moderator most likely will be here before to long to answer this burning question...

The STEP order is in the registrant's name. If person A registered for and got two tickets in STEP, two tickets would be waiting in person A's name at will call. Those tickets are non-transferable, person A *must* be the person to pick them up at will call. If person B also registered for and got two tickets in STEP, then there would be a non-transferable order in person B's name at will call as well. Who each person brings with them to the event to use their other ticket is up to them, that name is not specified at the time of purchase.

Sounds like curvyburner and her friend each registered for more tickets than they actually needed. While some folks blame the hoarders (and scalpers) for the ticket situation we're in, it looks as if neither of those was as widespread as people thought and a massive influx of people new to the event (who actually want to go) is what's made tickets so hard to come by.

If your a single and registered and received a single STEP ticket, that STEP is not transferable, correct?
