Looking for a hexayurt to rent/borrow
Hi y'all.
I've been accepted into the DPW and am going to spend almost a month prior to the event on the Playa (and maybe another week post event).
I'm looking for a Hexayurt to rent or borrow for this duration. since I live in Israel and am not sure that Ill be returning to the event in future years I see little point in spending over 400$ on building my own yurt (which I won't have anywhere to store afterwards). Naturally I'll be buying my own tape for the construction.
can anyone here help me with this?
Boris.

You might have better luck looking for a dome.

Try asking on the hexayurt mailing list.

I'm pretty sure that was a bit of sarcasm rather than an actual suggestion.Borris wrote:Where do I find the hexayurt mailing list?

It's hard for me to understand why would people want to be sarcastic to such a request.

Re: Looking for a hexayurt to rent/borrow
Part of it is, I think, the sort of hazing that seems to go with a new person coming into any group. Part of it is the riffing that us long-timers do, not so much to keep others out, but to knit ourselves together. (I know, sometimes we do have a bad effect.) Part of it is that hexayurts represent a fair amount of outlay of both money and labor, which makes it less likely that people are willing to share.
I'm sure that there are DPW mailing lists, have you put out a general call on those? If they don't have a yurt for you, they might find some other solution.

Let me help you with that. Hexayurt is the inventor of hexayurts, I believe.theCryptofishist wrote:I'm pretty sure that was a bit of sarcasm rather than an actual suggestion.Borris wrote:Where do I find the hexayurt mailing list?
DPW? Why don't you just bring a good tent and figure out shade and stuff after you get there?
