CONGRATS and BRAVO to you!Angel Ben wrote:12:13 here checking in, I just got a $390 ticket out of STEP today! Pretty awesome actually, as it's my birthday! I got up and thought "gee it would be the best birthday present ever if STEP came through today" and there it was!
Also, it's worth noting that I had two emails: a 12:13 and a 12:17, and had been wondering which one would count. At least in my case, the earlier time was the one that mattered. Hopefully that will help ease the minds of anyone else who had the same thing happen.
See you all out there!

Dude, I hated Gaussian reductions...hated. If your next post references vector spaces I'm going to recommend blocking your posts for the sake of my sanity.
BTW - (2) more STEP'ers out of the queue. One 12'12er & one 12'16er (me) got volunteer tix, so our slots will be scrubbed.

I just got 2 tickets from STEP. My confirmation email timestamp was 12:13:58.
Looks like we might get into the 12:14 zone soon!

Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
I would imagine the 12.16'er on FB hasnt delved into the code of the email - mine reads 12.15 but when I do the "see original" thing in Gmail it tells me Im 12.14:32 so I'd say hers was prob a 12.13 leaving the server but just took a while to get to her inbox
Hopefully this next week brings a host of 12.14'ers to the Playa including me & my Irish leprechauns

Let them live in their world as they see it haha. They have good intentions(to keep people from panicing in either way), it just can comes accross as repetitive and abrasive for us because we're on here multiple times a day hahaha. We just prefer quantifiable justtification and its hard for us to understand why it isn't universally understood. Live and let live. I just prefer my world to have quantifiable statistics.
Let's all be happy burners brothers and sisters. Let's be honest, did most of us really even expect this many tickets to go into the step program at all? I sure didn't think this many people would change plans and be so generous. Every sep ticket is a person saying no to scalping in reality!

Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
I have to ask: what is the "meaning" you get out of the timestamp? For me, the only value a timestamp would have is if it was an indicator of when I would receive my ticket, either time, or actual place in the queue. But a timestamp doesn't do that, as the ticket servicing and the number of people having the same timestamp are essentially random--implying that your expected wait time is the same no matter what timestamps you've been informed about.junglesmacks wrote:*hand quaking.. must.. resist.. making.. remark.. ridiculing.. the timestamps are meaningless crowd..*
So what is the meaning here? That the queue has moved? You don't need a timestamp for that: someone reporting that they got a ticket from STEP is enough. That you get your ticket before someone with a later timestamp? So what? That doesn't indicate when or if you'll get a ticket. So what is it? Something to watch?
This whole farce reminds me of that Christmas Futurama episode, where:
"The instant this random number generator reaches zero, you'll be executed."

Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
For me, it's a nice little countdown. Doesn't predict WHEN I'll get a ticket, or even IF I'll get one, but it's nice to see the march towards my 12:18 timestamp, since it's almost certain tickets are being doled out in order of said stamp. Not that hard to understand the enjoyment in that, as far as I'm concerned. When discussing religion with a religious person, do you concentrate on whether or not the historical events in a religious text are accurate? I'm guessing yes.BBadger wrote:I have to ask: what is the "meaning" you get out of the timestamp?
