ah okay, I to love the vintage kitchen stuff even though I don't love to cook

I would love to have an old formica and chrome kitchen table. I have an old chrome and ceramic(?) table with a pull out drawer on one side. Can't remember what it is called, maybe a "missouri table" I'll google it.
Oh my god, it's HUGE!

Reread the Survival Guide and much of preparation pages. I'm considering driving my 1971 GMC motorhome to Nevada this year, a lot to fix though. Breaks bled, refill master cylinder, check on bearing repacking; flush, sanitize and flush all tanks, buy bleach and baking soda, wand toilet, replace house waterpump, check motor mounts and tires (all rubber really) even the roof. I need new batteries, engine tuned up, Onan generator serviced, passenger screen window fixed, etc... I took a maintenance class this morning. It was fun. :D

TG, I love that you've framed your thermostat.
When he lights his streetlamp, it is as if he brought one more star to life, or one flower.
When he puts out his lamp, he sends the flower, or the star, to sleep.
That is a beautiful occupation.

Thanks! I thought it was cute and quirky. I have some type of animal half skull with horns above it that got cut out. Im the type of person who uses pintrest quite a bit to figure out how to upcycle. I have not bought new much of anything (other then some BM stuff) in a long while. Garage sales, people throwing stuff out, repurposing things ect. It is fun and original!

Fairly productive weekend - I got the back 40 tilled under and planted the victory garden.

Well actually I meant it more in the original sense of a garden to help the war effort - in that a source of basically free veggies in the back yard will help out our already stressed budget for attending BM. Hopefully it will not get shredded by multiple storms like last year.

However your thought has a lot of merit also and fits equally well.

And BTW - The back 40 is approximately 40 square yards, not acres.

I booked a hotel room for our incoming night in Reno. Trying to convince my partner to leave from Santa Cruz Monday night after class and drive, drive, drive, to Reno for a Tuesday arrival on playa. I wish I could arrive early, or at least on Monday, but I need my classes and I will get dropped if I don't show up the first day. I haven't decided our departure date. I do want to have a room in Reno for one night on the way home. I love to take a shower and eat at Mel's.

I serviced my Geo; oil, gas, water coolant, air in tires. AAA membership renewed.

Started clearing my house by discarding some expired food. Some of the cans were rusty. Getting rid of crap I never use, worn out shit, clothes that do not fit... It's amazing how much useless junk is crowding out my life. Garbage cans are full and waiting pickup tomorrow. I like to come home to a clean house.

Today's item (on faith) was to reserve pre and post hotel rooms in Reno. I had to make sure they're cancelable/refundable in case we don't manage to get tickets.

We like to do the same...get cleaned up before heading home to East Bay. We arrived on a Tuesday in 2010 and it was a breeze. Most of our camp still hadn't arrived anyway so we really didn't feel we missed much. Which hotel did you book? I went for the Holiday Inn Express again. They gave us a Burn discount (which I'll ask for again closer to the date) and let us fill up all our water jugs for free. Also essential was free parking (for our van and trailer) and it's right next to the fwy for quick departure Monday AM. Also nice is the pool and Jacuzzi, and breakfast carbs.

Be sure and check out the Barbie Death Village Reno Hotel Deal for the Sands Regency. I assume Danibel did since that burner likes eating at Mels.

Do they have a big, free parking lot? That's kind of critical as we haul a trailer.

They most certainly do. Along with a swimming pool, free Jacuzzi/steam bath/sauna, ice machines on every floor. It's where we stop to pick up our people needing rideshares because there's so much room in the parking lot (it has to cover at least an acre) it's easy to get our RVs in and out.

We always stay at the Sands. It's reasonable and I know where all the shopping is from that starting point ;) Mel's is a bonus, and Starbucks is a block away. Last year Exodus was such a nightmare - we waited till the last possible moment to leave the playa (had a room in Reno and had to be back at work on Wedensday). When we arrived in at the Sands at 2am there was a huge sign that said "SOLD OUT, no rooms unless you have reservations." I was thanking the goddess up and down that I had a reserved room. I have stayed at Circus too, I just like the Sands better :)

Nope, just go to the Share Resources thread and look up the BDV Hotel Deal. Call the toll-free number and ask for BURN12. That's all there is to it. See you on the playa.
