OK, so I saw the references to Laughing Forest, and... well... of course, curiosity got the best of me. It always does.

For those of you who, like me, are new (or newish) here and hadn't seen the post in question, and for those of you who had seen it but would like to relive it in all its glory...

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls,
I bring you...
(all the way from bottom of the sock drawer...)
LLLLAUGHING FORRRRREST!!!!

Serious kudos to whoever created her, and good luck to this year's challenger, whoever s/he may be.

Everytimes someone wants to manifest a ticket or just go on a free ride, I think of THIS.

I think those are always going to be really tough odds. Aside from the tens of thousands of people who entered the main sale and came up empty, there are tens of thousands of additional people who want to go who were never even registered.
I was just being a facetious bastard. It would be quite difficult to figure that out. (I just took what was posted and reversed the percentages.)

I can only do this a little at a time, but how are those point on top? Fair? too high, too low?

Impressive scorecard there, fishy. I'm seeing some new tiny instruments being played upon to quantify need, and heighten sympathies: age 60, and cancer. The first a non-issue, the second nearly a confidence artist's. If I had a spare ticket, I would be ruined with guilt, thinking about who might be the most deserving. I almost feel bad having one of my own and not having that good a reason for going beyond looking forward to having a good time, and camping.

Don't you dare feel bad about the fact you're going. Having a good time is reason enough.

I understand there is a lot of "manifestation" attemps going on here.
I have come to the conclusion that "freeloading" has a fancier, new age word called "manifestation".
How about these pseudo-spiritual people manifest jobs for themselves? Or even manifest money so they can pay for their own bills and tickets?
That's right! Because that might take a little more effort than posting on web forums a.k.a asking the universe.

I bet there was a time when people took lot of pride in being independent and being able to financially support themselves.
And thus begins assholier-than-thou Tuesday.

When someone asks me for a free ______, I have the right to say no.

Sure it is annoying that people are essentially begging for tickets, anyone has the right to say no. I do not like it, but this is one of the consequences of having a free society.

Also annoying, is that a lot of people seem to get one.

YMMV

OK I'm sure we've all seen it by now; but someone actually out-played the cancer card.  :(

If we try to give points to that thread will we all go to hell?

Hahahahaha....well, I think that asking for FOUR tickets makes it fair game. I'm already going to hell anyway.

It does seem to be making some very strange lemonade.
I lost a sister, I lost a husband...their temples are everywhere or any place I feel I need to put them.
(I actually ended up with mixed feelings about the temple as a place for Scott...)

So, we need to revise the scoring system.

How many points was cancer?

I think we have to then multiply that by 10 to get the point value for death of a loved one, with bonus points for son or daughter.

I think we are trapped, though. If one person says something, he looks like a jerk. If multiple people say something, we look like bullies...

Yeah, that's definitely a multiplier. Although, maybe she's not eligible for having used the "nuclear option".
