eplaya accounts for the number one distraction from my daily work. It's either play with you fuckos or get on that latest dissemination of last month's sales figures, manufacturer chargebacks, customer returns and write checks and more checks.. Bah.

Is it August yet?

Never watched it. Never watch PeeWee's Playhouse either, and that's the one I hope they bring back.
TPBM knows what "shiver me timbers" means both literally and metaphorically.

o.k. so I googled it... but yes, I do know the literal feeling as a boat gets dumped off a crest into a trough and wham you wonder how long it can hold up. Of course a fiberglass sailboat does not have any timbers in it really... And usually I'd be sort of green and sick as it was happening.

tpbm knows that an accidental jibe is not only snark gone awry.

not going to google this and go with my gut. My father had a set and we were NOT allowed to touch. (high quality drafting pens right?)

tpbm used to enjoy a good office supply and staionary store.

Yes, carbon paper and typewriter ribbon before ink injection printers. Back when computers were displayed with typewriters ( manual and electric ) or in the toy section. Now, ink cartridges and printing paper. In the Army, everything was in triplicate, and on thin onion skin or " goldenrod ". IBM punchcard machines with stacks of cards... good times...

TPBM also knows how to use a sliderule.

PS. When drafting I prefered various nib sizes with pen and ink before blueprinting, Rather than those German things. Drafting pencils of various sizes and hardness were available also for my table work.

No, but I did grow up in a slide rule household, and I might be able to multiply with one...
The person below Lazerfox, or maybe Lazerfox herself, I'm a little unclear here (although grateful...) had a variation on that Donnie and Marie song "I'm a little bit country/I'm a little bit rock and roll", with one of her/his siblings but it went "I'm a little bit Dada/I'm a little bit Surrealist".

EDIT: The cat just looked up and realized that the fish had, in fact, been awakened by the fox's whispers.
EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT: The cat is having difficulties with grammar and proofreading today.

No, my brother and I never had such a song. Most of our re-lyricized songs were too stupid to be worth remembering, and most of them were probably not original to us, either.

TPBM still remembers the clothes they used to play dress-up with when they were kids a kid.

Gawd! Not at all. I've never heard of him and had to google.
I grew up with a mother who organized massive rummage sales. I had a literal trunk full of ball-gowns to dress up in.
My current fashion ensemble is basically uniform, in every aspect of my life.
I've always thought there's two kinds of people: Uniform and Costume. I'm a Uniform type.

TPBM is considering the clothes in the closet that need to go away.

I do not like typing with one finger on a picture of a keyboard 3 inches wide. I may have more to say, but I just don't have the patience.

Candy coated popcorn, peanuts and a priiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiize: that's what you get with crackerjacks. Hit them with the truth, man. Any questions?

Tpbm understands the little animations beside all the threads on eplaya. I like to think they are tiny little slot machines.

Yes. Short answer they're the people that are draining to be around. Haven't tried to mess with auras (there are about as many opinions on the subject as there are people giving them), but from minor dabbling "grounding" is a way to take a moment and return to immediacy. it takes about two seconds and involves a deep breath and feeling a connection to the earth. I usually feel a heavy/sinking feeling as I ground but YMMV (as with most psycho-spiritual gibberish there are many different views, I speak only for mine). Interestingly, I've discovered from past experience I can't ground while drunk.

TPBM doesn't drink.
