Re: Anti M's Home for Wayward Art
Today, while cleaning, I found two pieces that didn't get to the home last year. Plus, I picked up two last weekend in the thrift store in historic downtown Vacaville. Vacaville is a scary town--from the freeway it looks like an endless selection of malls... Historic DT V-Ville is cute, though. Although, the mexican food could be better. Maybe if I'd seen the enchiladas on the menu, I'd have been happier with it...

I have sorted the art boxes, but haven't touched anything yet. I did find a rainbow unicorn black velvet painting a few months ago.

Bump, because it would be a shame if nothing were posted here in an entire month!

"Wood experiment"... Is that what you're calling it now?

Missed u guys last year but will swing by the Bistro with intent to donate and adopt. I have a large erection I'm rigging up behind my theme camp's tent that houses my bedroom/kitchen 10 feet off the ground and it needs some finishing touches to hang under the breezy sunshade. I'll be by early weekish with some stuff I've made over the years that will need a new home... Stoked to see you all!
...and, well, I must admit I've never been to BDC, and I thought I'd seen everything the Nazis did on TV!
I'll make sure to bring my rod n reel so I can sit for a moment and see what's biting while I witness the Barbie horrors.

Re: Anti M's Home for Wayward Art
I finished two birdhouses, almost have a painting done, have two well begun, figured out what to do with the fire engine picture which was made by a mom for a kid's room (on very expensive stretch canvas at that), and got a collage skeleton underway. even have a sketch on a canvas outside, but too windy to begin painting. Also decided on two works to use the tubes of watercolor and oils I don't want to work with.

Ooooh, new paint, sure, it was on clearance, but the Liquitex soft body concentrated in little bottles... so smooooooth! So rich! I want to bathe in it.

MyLarry has finally realized he's the only one who can reach the art high up on the Home. He's going to lower the profile. I knew he'd see the light one of these years.

Several paintings finished, lots of sorting out accomplished, and a couple collage pieces will see final touches today. The art ball rolls on....

Grommets in canvas paintings, for wire-mounted art. Three more paintings completed, canvas prepped for more, calendars disassembled to be mounted. And more.
Of course, if it all goes during E-11, I'll have to bust art ass in July..... can I do hundreds of pieces? Yes, I can.

Re: Anti M's Home for Wayward Art
Ah, after an assessment of my personal resources and energy reserves, the art will go to TTITD. E-11 may see a modified Home, more of a display and interaction center than a full on adoption gallery.
Ah well, the dust rolls on.

Bring out the configuration that will work best for your burn experience. Bigger isn't always better, especially if it kicks your ass.

Art rationing, I can sort what I've got into daily boxes. When the art runs out, the Home closes for the day. Although I've returned from daytrips to find it full of strange new pieces!

Alas, right now we cannot take boxes home from work without a property pass. I don't know if that actually means empty boxes for wayward art...
Maybe I should break them down and reconstitute at home...

Re: Anti M's Home for Wayward Art
So, you have no boxes? There surely are ways around that. Maybe the liquor store delivers? (I think I'm kidding...)
I've been painting. painting, painting. Problem is the kitchen fills up with half dry pieces, and the living room now has trails through the art hedges. Need to find my plastic wrap and wrap the larger pieces, they took a beating going out to E-11. It rained, and they got wet/pressed paint to paint, and fingerprints. One needs extensive repainting. Plus I was gifted a giant canvas, and a decision needs to be made, as such a large canvas will tempt those thinking I'm gifting art supplies. I'm not, but it is so alluring. Heck, I'm tempted to embellish the painting, although I know the original artist would be insulted. I think. That's why I like anonymous art, I can ravish it without a twinge of conscience.

Re: Anti M's Home for Wayward Art
Looking at pictures of Homes Past, a fully stocked Wayward Art offering is around 40 pieces. I do an afternoon restock if possible, adding ten to twenty pieces. Say 50 paintings/drawings/collages/photos/prints per day. Right now I have 50 on hand, ready to go. I can easily have another 50, the goal is another 100 art creations minimum. Yes, that's a lot of original art to create on a month, not every piece is successful, but somehow always finds the way into the proper loving hands. Weird, talking about art in units. 300 units for the week, although by adoption card count, one year we moved over 500 individual art offerings. That was a heavy schwag year, lots of trinkets, jewelry and off the wall items.
Genius will be contributing his woodcuts, Ancient Burner has a couple dozen pieces to contribute, I know/hope I'll be getting good donations from Fishy, and others have promised to bring a few pieces. Don't know if I'll see contributions from Lady D, she makes some cool jewelry, won't be camping with us this year. I adore my contributors and rarely thank them properly. Thank you! Random art always shows up, I, and the folks who get to adopt it, are deeply grateful.
I'm awake at four in the morning, already thinking art and finishing yesterday's projects as I get my coffee before diving in today.

Re: Anti M's Home for Wayward Art
I have three smallish boxes full, random art that's currently running feral, and a larger box left over from last year. I offered to by some stuff by my 12-year-old surrogate nephew, but we have not yet made the transaction. There was some nonsense about going on tour with a boychoir in Spain. Culcha. Who needs it?

You always find the best stuff. You have richer hunting grounds than I do. I saved out a few landscapes to Godzilla up. So far, so good!

He's back, but I haven't seen him. I do have postcards for you.
It's a great excuse to prowl thrift stores, flea markets, garage sales and free boxes. I find all sorts of stuff that has merit, but I dojn't have room for. Or love for, I know they are good, but I"m just not that into them...
And there there are the feminist empowerment collages and paintings. I think that is my favorite pathetic genre... I don't think I have on this year.
