Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

I'll have you know I conquered that sand dune a couple of years ago on the Pear County Chopper trike! Kinetic Sculpture Racing is great fun AND good exercise at the same time.

In the form of what we call a "steak".

Re: ePlaya Fitness Club
just discovered this thread, jumping in to motivate/guilt/shame myself into getting more exercize.
Backstory: Cut Caffeine in May 2011, alcohol in July. Went vegan late september/early october 2011 and dropped a mens pant size (women's sizes are fickle and vain, I'm a 12/14/16 depending on who I'm wearing. Men's I'm down to a 34) Added in Dance Dance Revolution on standard-heavy for 15-60 minutes a day as exercise in December and dropped another size by February. Hit a plateau a few months back and have been slacking on the exercise too of late. I'd like to walk/run/jog, but I live in an area where I don't feel safe walking two blocks to get groceries for fear of regular street harassment (I walk anyway) I'm tentatively considering roller derby cause its a badass empowering kind of sport and I could use a dose of aggressive feminism. My local derby team has a bout Saturday evening so I'm gonna try to make it there and then maybe find a rink and skate on sunday if I think it looks fun. If not, there's always more DDR...

Re: ePlaya Fitness Club
That's the plan, eventually. I've got the permit in hand, but selecting a gun and method of concealment is where I'm stuck. I'm not planning on carrying till I'm competent and confident with whatever weapon I choose, have a gun safe for storage at home, and know my state and local laws inside and out. In the meantime, I've got pepper spray on my keyring.gyre wrote:Carry a gun like the rest of us.

Re: ePlaya Fitness Club
For light weight, you can't beat a Keltec 380.
About half the power of a 9mm though.
I strongly recommend the Pepperblaster.
I don't think it has competition.
Chime in on one of the gun threads if you have questions.

I can see you doing this, in my mind's eye.
Re: ePlaya Fitness Club
I can swim that well, but I'm clearly outclassed when it comes to carrying trees.

Okay, you handle the water sports and I will handle the log.
