Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
Ok, now had time to decompress - Got my tix today after minor meltdown. Savannah - I was in a mad rush to get back to work and should have said: Junglesmacks it worked! (Not as a question because it did work)!! Thanks to all who have answered my questions along the way. Whenever I had doubts someone on eplaya had support, opinions and answers (thanks mods and fellow eplayan peeps). I have been on cloud nine all day. What a journey! I was trying to rush back to work at the time so wanted to give my full info now as I know I lurked like a hawk on here waiting. Got two tickets at $390 tier. My full time stamp was 12:17:24. I did in fact have to close out my browser and retry the link and it worked (holla Junglesmacks). I will continue to watch and hope and be happy for everyone else waiting....patiently?
No matter where you go, there you are.
Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
I posted earlier this morning about getting a ticket offer but was rushed and about out the door on my way to work. I neglected to say Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to all who have contributed to STEP.
The timing is about right. It possible that it may have been me who picked up the tickets you passed on. In any event, somebody is going to get to go home thanks to you folks. So thank you and I'll raise a glass to you and the hubby on the playa.
And if hubby breaks his leg again next year tell him it will heal faster if you just chop it off.

I've been lurking, obsessing over this thread for quite some time, wondering if the magic email would ever arrive. And it finally did, on Friday. 2 tickets via STEP. Our timestamp was 12:17:05 (in case you were wondering!)
Sadly, my hubbie's managed to injure his foot in the space of time between us desperately trying to procure tickets and then actually getting them! He's on crutches and in plaster for the foreseeable future and despite much pleading with the doctors, they can't guarantee he'll be back on his feet (quite literally) in time for the Burn. So, we've reluctantly had to pass on them and allow them to re-enter STEP.

Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
Ah sucks, thanks Kenrock. Even though we were sad to let go of those golden tickets, we did smile, knowing someone else would be getting that excitment of seeing an email sitting in their inbox with the good news they've been patiently waiting for. Thanks for raising a glass to us - make it a good Irish whiskey and you're on! And I'll certainly be letting my hubbie know we're going next year, with or without the leg!

scott,
looks like your time stamp says your email was sent from bman at 12:21:46 that would be the time stamp that people should be looking at. Although we all know that time stamps mean nada
good luck and hang in there. I predict you'll be hearing from STEP before to long. YAY

Yeah, the time stamps seem particularly imprecise this week: we have had stuff in the 12:16s AND 12:17s...The consistancy of these stamps are starting to waver. All bets are off now!!
trying not to worry that i have been skipped due to a glitch or something.
i know you all have fingers crossed for me--and thank you!

Two $390 tickets received yesterday via STEP.

Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
I'm not really sure that they are really starting to waver(all of this 12:17 before 12:16 business)...My theory is that some people are looking at different times...when looking at your email conformation there are two times...the stamp when your conformation was sent from BM...and the stamp when you receive the email....this may account for the appearance of these fluctuations..and may also be the the reason that some people say that timestamp is unreliable......ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY TIMESTAMP!!!!!!tSmalls wrote:The consistancy of these stamps are starting to waver. Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
Yes- I was thinking the same thing. sent from server- server received... blah blah blah- jibbity jamand the puddingpops. My theory is that some people are looking at different times...
That's the only thing keeping me relatively sane considering it appears that yesterday a :17:05 AND a :17:24 want and I'm at :17:11. ACK!!!
Exemplifies all the variables that come into play here- what we've been saying all along- timestamps are just an approximation!
(Having said that, it looks to me like you're up next, Felix

This isn't to start another argument on timestamps, this is to allay fears of people who think they are being skipped.FeetOfClay wrote:Yeah, the time stamps seem particularly imprecise this week: we have had stuff in the 12:16s AND 12:17s...The consistancy of these stamps are starting to waver. You. Are. Not. Being. Skipped.
You have not been forgotten or lost in a mix-up!
If you received the initial email you have not been "skipped" and there is NO glitch. This is the whole thing about "don't rely on the timestamps" some of us type until our fingers are blue- they are not an accurate representation of the queue. Close? Maybe. Accurate? No.
The timestamps come from around 20 different servers, the servers are not on the same millisecond, the time they took to get to you can vary (I know, shocking in this day and age), and they are not and have never been any sort of official tracking of the queue.
You are in the queue, it seems to be moving well, breathe & relax, and have your credit card ready when that email hits!

Thanks Eric!!Totally didn't mean to rehash the timestamp argument- I actually think the unpredictability makes it kinda fun.
The email is coming- could be today could be next week. It's so exciting!!

And let's not forget the above advice from Junglesmacks, et al, if you get a "used" or "expired" message when you try to buy. It worked for Jenifer!junglesmacks wrote:The "expired" link error means that somewhere, you have multiple windows open to it. Close your entire browser and try opening back up. Did you open it on your phone or anything?Jenifersteppat wrote:OMG! Got offered tickets -freaked out with happiness - Did not open link - rushed home on lunch break, click link - says it has already been used or expired! Having melt down. Follow link it says try back in 35 minutes if get that error message! I have to go back to work. Why is this happening? Did this happen to anyone else? I just got tickets offered at 9:35 this am and my time stamp is 12:17...
If all else fails, just email partiserv (at) burningman.com with your issue. Your name has already been selected, you're fine.
I can also almost promise you with everything that the problem is right there within your reach with the browser issue.
Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the white-out dust storm that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through my well-staked shade structure. And I will buy my fucking tickets.

Brilliant idea! Allow me to suggest Dr. McGilicuddy's Fireball Cinnamon Whisky as your spice liquor. It's spicier, less sweet, and much more potent than Goldschlager.VultureChow wrote:Savannah wrote:Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the white-out dust storm that brings total obliteration. Probably, though it might be more fun/economical to make our own. Just need everclear, cinnamon, and whatever else we put in. Can't be much different than making limoncello.
