Surgical staff have been traditionally required to scrub their hands for 10 minutes preoperatively, which frequently leads to skin damage. However, several studies indicate that neither a brush nor a sponge is necessary to reduce bacterial counts on the hands of surgical personnel to acceptable levels

I mean, if you want, we could launch in to a huge discussion about how one properly removes environmental contamination from ones filthy paws...We could get in the nitty gritty of waterless vs. non, brush vs. sponge, contact time, chlorohex vs iodine vs alcohol, whether it even matters given the bacterial load of the air in the OR, the benefits of shoe covers, and laminar flow systems, the importance of nail hygiene, coke or pepsi, diet or regular etc etc... our group had an hour long meeting on it recently, so this topic is rattling around my head ad nauseam ....... but I prefer your grilled cheese porn shots.
