Hugs to all. It sounds like quite a few of you are gong through rough times and I know how that feels. You have my thoughts a prayers. My mum is thankfully home now and recovering nicely.

My situation has worsened however and I can barely walk right now. I am dealing. Meh.

And my best friend (I call her my sister) I had to issue an ultimatum to today: either get rid of the abusive fucktard in your life or I am no longer going to be part of that life. I feel awful but I know it was the right thing to do. I know she won't leave him for herself but maybe she can see, through my reaction, what kind of harm this is doing to her and those around her. I had a good friend do this for me when I needed it and I felt so betrayed by her in the moment, but once I was out of the bad relationship, I could not have felt more thankful to her for being honest with me. She helped save my life and I am praying that my sister can use this to save her own.

3 people shot and killed, another in critical condition in hospital after an armed robbery at my university campus late last night. They were not staff or students, but employees of a security company involved with the bank machines here. I didn't even know about it until I was about to leave for work (I have a summer job on campus). Our emergency alert system that sends emails and text messages to staff and students, (among other methods of notification) when there is a severe disaster, emergency, danger, or act of violence at school was never activated. No one has explained why yet. So many people live on campus, or stay late in the buildings open 24 hours. Makes me worry what will happen if there is a next time, and god forbid it's during school hours when campus is busiest.

Kinda rattled as well since it's so close to home, and really feeling for the families of the victims. Fuck.

I did make it clear that I was not abandoning her and was always going to be there for her, but if he is around I won't be. I still talk to her on the phone and text her, but I will not go to their home, I will not interact with him at all, and my child is certainly not allowed anywhere near the situation at all. I don't know what else to do. I won't put my family in harm's way for her. I think that really was the slap in the face she needed. She is already talking about how to get rid of him and what kind of support she'll need to keep it up. In almost 12 years I have never not been there for her. I have always been the one, who even during the most fucked up shit, was there. So saying I wouldn't be anymore really made her take a step back and take stock. I hope it sticks.

Fuck 'em. It's the worst when family, who is supposed to support you no matter what, are the bad guys. There is nothing wrong with you, you are not Satan. I would like to remind you that at the MnG last year it was you who reached out to me and made me feel the most welcome and comfortable. (Not that there were not other awesome people there! It's a difficult situation when fundamentalist are your parents. Having grown up in a relatively conservative society, I have had my battles with them.
Plus, there is the whole deal of generation gap that comes in the way. In all, a battle that has no happy ending. Its bothers us so much because they matter to us.
I wish I could say "fuck it"... I am sure I found some way tune them out back then, mostly with the help of friends.
Over time, the line has become clearer to both of us. We have stopped trying to prove each other wrong and that has helped.

They spent 4 yrs on him, got trainers and all that. He seemed like he was ok, but would snap out of nowhere.
Couple of days ago, he snapped and bit my fil really bad. And they had to make the decision to put him down.
It's a fucking messed up situation where there is no happy ending.

It's probably better for everyone but is so scary when I think of the kind of power we possess.

I work on Grandfathers power chair. It has two small lever in front, below and on each side of the seat.. It free wheels when the levers are released. Like this wont help you.. But anyone assisting you needs to know..Hope yours is the same.. fuck
