There was a movie made in Spanish (Spain? Mexico?) where the lead character was some sort of obsessed magician with a god complex. Buy howdy, it was weird. ¿I wonder if these are las mismas?

I'm trying to remember the plot of Santa Sangre. It involved a mother-and-son pair. The mother had no arms. They did a vaudevillian routine in which she sat at a piano, and he stood behind her and played it, with his arms through her sleeves. There were some weird rituals and witchcraft involved. There was, as the title suggests, a lot of blood. I must have seen it overdubbed, because I have a memory of the mother in a pool of blood, chanting "HOOOOOOLY BLOOOOOOD! HOOOOLY BLOOOOD!"

It might have been the same movie, eh? The magician thing rings a bell. And the God-complex.


When you asked for something weird... well, that movie was the weirdest thing I could thing of I think I have to see it again.

There was something I did see. But the memories are really faint. Too bad IMDB doesn't go so far as to record all the bad movies I saw in the 80s. (I mean the fact that I saw them. That would be a very easy search.)
