i THINK that we can have tons of healthy fit people without subjecting ourselves to the idea that fitness is a commodity that we need to pay for...


I propose that there shouldnt be any camp that uses the CROSSFIT® name at burning man.

but, maybe im alone in wanting to avoid a buncha advertisements on the playa.

Please DO NOT register a domain with the CrossFit name in it until AFTER you have been accepted; CrossFit is a licensed trademark and its use without our prior permission is illegal.

keep brand power off of the playa!

@peacefulwarrior916 - you would need to be careful with how you proceed. A fitness themed camp that happened to focus on that style of training, no problem. I'm sure there are plenty of camps that get into pilates or any other fitness regime. But using the CrossFit name (which is a brand) would be a problem, just as it would for using any other brand name. You would also want to communicate your plans for the 2012 event in the 2012 Theme Camp boards, as this is a discussion thread from last year's event.

Did anything get off the ground for 2012 in regards to a Black Rock City Crossfit? If so, I'd love to contribute time and energy (in the form of leading WODs or teaching an intro/basics course to interested wander-bys).

If not, I was planning on stopping by Pink Gym and going a few WODs throughout the week. I think they have only some basic stuff - no KBs or Olympic Weights, but some barbells, dumbbells, a pullup bar, etc. Plus there is always burpees in the dust...
