I disagree. This looks like good news to me because it means
1) They're testing something *reckless speculation/magical thinking warning* perhaps a means of adding additional tickets to the queue and testing that it works correctly before they roll out more tickets?
2) He still has his place in line
3) It helps explain the spattering of reported second STEP offer emails we've seen in the past few days.

I totally agree with this disagree. We all know there's something wonky going on with the list and the repeat notifications- and the complete silence from BMORG and even our moderators has been unnerving..... I know I saw an early response yesterday from Trilo to one of these duplicate emails, but then later in the afternoon it was mysteriously gone.....
What this tells me is that they know there's a problem, and they're working on it- I have TONS of respect for the chaos they're dealing with and complete confidence that it will be corrected and addressed in JRS- and that STEP will continue to fulfill tickets soon. . . . .

The Mods are here to make sure the board runs smoothly as much as possible & to deal with spam, we don't necessarily know more that the average user about what is going on at BMHQ.

Speaking for myself, I've been silent on the issue because I don't know anything about it (and I would guess that's the same for the others, but I don't know. Our hive-mind is turned off right now) - that would also be the reason I suggested people who've gotten those emails respond & let the STEP people know.

Yes, it would be great to know what happened, but when you've been around for a while you know the Org answers questions in their own sweet time.

True. Often frustrating, but true.

And I don't know that it's any different than most organizations. At times I wish my employer were more open. There are times that you wish my employer could be more open, in fact. (Okay, that's a guess. But not a particularly wild one.) The management of information is one of the truly difficult things our institutions cope with. So, while I am frustrated with what the llc doesn't say, I can't really say that they are heinously worse than the rest of the American landscape.

Regardless of what 'server tests' indicate and whether or not work is being done on the duplicate offers and despite the official rumors going on about extra tickets into STEP...

For me, I absolutely expect bad, misleading or lack of communication from corporations these days. However, my expectations for the BORG are significantly higher in that regard. Which is why I get disappointed a lot.

this i understand.

i won't go so far as to say i'm disappointed "a lot", but to tell someone they've been awarded tickets and then to say "oops" is definitely disappointing.

At the very least it should read "We apologize for crushing your dreams, causing you to have a cardiac arrest, giving you a stroke, high blood pressure, low blood pressure, sending you into a deep depression, or otherwise causing you to lose faith in the STEP program, the competency of BMORG, or your chances of actually getting a ticket"

I do... and then I don't. Most of the "don't" comes from what I see from the "customers" and all the shit the BORG has to deal with. While I always like good communication between buyer and seller, for large amounts of people sometimes it's better to keep things purposely ambiguous so that expectations are not created.
