TG - you don't need to bring anything. Just help me set up and do some cleaning up.

That is fine!

Since we're in the village, we're likely to be around for set up. (me and MyLarry)

I'm going to look through my booze shelf and see if we have absinthe, the one I like. Le Torment Verte. Five Wives vodka, no doubt, and I know I have bottles of uncracked Kraken. Booze for sure. Five Wives is made right here in Ogden, and was banned in Idaho for being potentially offensive. Perfect.

OK, with all these people bringing absinthe, mister cat and I will bring a box of sugar cubes and our slotted absinthe spoon.

CITFH, we drink our absinthe straight. A couple of shots of absinthe and the whole world is your friend. I suppose you could bring out the sugar and spoon for those weenies in the mix, but my 160-proof absinthe will have none of it!

Heh... ok. I like the taste of straight absinthe, but I love the ritual of the sugar and the dripping fire.

Random citfh story! My first time doing the ritual was in a back alley with a sketchy goth kid and his pet rat, neither of whom I'd met before. My partner and I were drunkenly wandering Queen Street, kind of doing our own private pub crawl, when this kid, even drunker than us, came up and asked if we wanted to drink absinthe with him. Turns out, he had not only the absinthe but also the sugar cubes and spoon, but he was lacking a lighter. So we all sat in this filthy alley doing the absinthe ritual, and I made friends with his beautiful pet rat, and it was just a wonderful, strange experience.

But the absinthe fire on the sugar is so beautiful!

The absinthe I prefer is sweet, more like absinthe liquor than strong absinthe. Perfect for straight sipping.

The absinthe I will be bringing will be already mixed with sugar and water in the form of a jello shot. 1 oz. globs of creamy white wigglers that look like the product of a happy ending!

Hey there eplayans,

For the M&G we will be having a “pin the quote on the eplayan”.

We (ie Catinthefunnyhat) have scoured the eplaya boards for gems of wit, wisdom and snark and are sifting through the best of it.

For those that hate party games you don’t have to play.

But for those that want in it will be a bit of fun and will (hopefully) mean you will wander about and meet other people because you have to match them with their quote.

If you have a favourite quote that makes you laugh then please send it (PM) to me.

Cheers

Today I was able to score several bottles of Moxie (as in my avatar). This is an old time soda not seen for probably 60 years. It was first formulated in 1884 and was popular until the 1930's when sales started to decline. Production is sporadic and extremely limited. The taste is a bit strong and it has to grow on you to enjoy it.
I will be bringing several bottles to the M&G to share, for anyone wishing to try it for the first time or to take a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Bring your own cup! :D http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moxie

I am assuming the wine would be an appropriate contribution to the party considering it is at a "Wine Bistro".... Any preference on varietal/vintage?

Lucky Duck Shiraz @ $3.99/bottle a la Wally World is a house favorite around these parts..

..and in fact, happens to be within arm's length of the keyboard as we speak.

Although, on the playa.. wine is a bit too.. dry/sour.. for my liking. In fact.. I'm not much of a drinker at all while I'm there except for the champagne and whippets first thing in the morning when getting back to the truck after a full night out. Intoxication* yes, alcohol induced.. not so much..
