Unless the above forementioned someone is a guy who doesn't shave for burning man.Oral Sex !
The massaging effects of someones hair on your inner thighs..........
Stubble hurts!
When I got to playa I discovered all I really wanted to wear were silly little panties - but I realized early on the chafe problem was gonna be a doozy - so I improvised a whole series of garter/stocking outfits. It really helped to have that bit of fabric to rub together instead of just my thighs.
Worked pretty well - It wasn't until Sunday that it started to get owchie down there.
It's all about the squirrels.

As luck would have it I brought my Norelco & triple blades and used them frequently, yet I missed out on the Canadian Beaver Eating Contest and the women I was with didn't seem interested in letting me do that either.....it was kinda disappointing. Wasted talent, lost opportunities.....what a shame.
And on top of that I expected nothing back in return, and even as a gift it didn't work.

I would just like to say fuck you skinny boy! I swim 3-4 days a week and walk frequently and my thighs still chafe. People like you are the reason people who are perfectly in shape are starving themselves. Pull you haed out of your ass before you open it, you'll find that less shit come out of your mouth that waydj big E wrote:lmao try walking more than one week out of the year lmao. dj big "E"

While opinions are welcome, with only 2 posts under your belt this is a fine way to enter the e-playa and make yourself noticed. I can't wait to see his response so I'll save my artillery shells for another more personally engaging target....but if your going to post and be negative, try to preview your post before submitting it. You have some blatant typos that need to be cleared....OregonRed wrote:I would just like to say fuck you skinny boy! I swim 3-4 days a week and walk frequently and my thighs still chafe. If your going to flame, make sure you do it right, check facts, set the oxy/acetylene mix right and then go to it. Otherwise, forgetaboutit. In other words please spell check next time you go on the attack.
One last thing, DJ Big E is not exactly skinny, no offense meant, so it's going to be interesting to watch where this thread goes. I might even enable the notification alert!

That should be "If you're going to...".Kinetic wrote:If your going to flame, make sure you do it right, check facts, set the oxy/acetylene mix right and then go to it. Otherwise, forgetaboutit. In other words please spell check next time you go on the attack.

Mea Culpa.....already. I suffered a head injury / post concussive syndrome in 2001 and while I am pretty much healed up, I have the occasional problem. My grammar took a hit and my math skills suck. The amnesia I had wiped out some of my advanced math skills, I can do basic math but anything beyond algebra like trig and calc is gone until I relearn it again, if I can. Calculators cover for me on the math side, but I don't have a grammar checker here so my weakness comes out. Also on other threads we've discussed this in depth....spelling carries more weight than grammar according to the posts.
At least everyone knows my secrets now....so I don't have to worry about it. I fuck up, I make mistakes. But if I'm going to be negative I try to get it right. And even I fuck up...but with 225 posts on here and being in the top 3 posters I've gotta screw up sometime. It just so happened to be here.
The real point of my post for those who missed it: She's new to e-playa. This is a great place to learn about BM. I don't want her getting off on the wrong foot, and I make no apologies for being slightly concerned about anyone. We're all burners, and so I pay attention and care a little. I promised to bring the spirit of BM home and into all facets of my life...part of that life is e-playa. Enough said.

I've almost made a full recovery, I'll consider it full when I regain my math skills and I'm able to write at the level I used to, which was above what most in America could do. I'll just leave it at that.
BM changed my life, and helped play a key role in my recovery. It helped with Tallinn, it's helped in so many ways. I gotta give something back...ok not just something but even more than I feel it gave to me. And that's what I'm working on.

O.K. you are absolutely right I should have read before I submitted. In my defense however, I find the attitude of "heavy=lazy" so completely infuriating that I tend to react first.
On the other hand, I don't feel that I was any more wrong in my reaction than dj was in his initial statement. If you don't want mean shitty reactions, don't say mean shitty things.

chafing
Dang I missed the chafing tread, but here goes my shot. I Pipe(bagpipes), and walking long miles in heavy wool kilts(parades) causes lots of red skin. 2 solutions, if it is a long wark and you have to keep marching(no stopping) the silk/lycra blend boxex briefs work everytime. BUT this is what I used on the playa and it also works. I did lots of Ranger shifts and had a blast, y'all rock out there on the playa, so I was able to pause and air dey so to speak. I wore no underware after the first day, started chafing and did not like it. so When slipping in to bed to SLEEP I used an aloe and lano;lin based skin lotion. I use a fragrance free one from Rainbow Springs Then in the morning and after any shower dry and gold bond. The skinlotion repaiirs any problems from the day before and gold bond just works.

ANTIPERSPIRANT! Forget the lotions to treat the rash. If you don't sweat, you won't get a rash. And putting it on your thighs will NOT give you cancer of any kind. Not any more likely than getting cancer from playa dust.
Be the change you seek in the world.

Pasty mess? NOT!
Talc, yes, it makes a nasty paste, but Corn Starch won't make a pasty mess unless you put the whole box down your pants, and I certainly don't recommend that! Just enough to powder your behind & whatnot. Besides if a little corn starch gets wet, it still remains slippery, so NO CHAFING! No icky mess! No cancer! YAY!When cornstarch or talcum powder get wet (and they eventually do), that nasty paste is very unsexy.

In a pinch...
I went to another festival many years ago when I weighed significantly more than I do now, and I got very far from camp in a hippie skirt in 100 degree heat...aahhh...I can tell you that sunblock works in a pinch. It makes a good enough lube to stop chaffing--and if you're pale like me you'll be carrying it around anyway. Probably not a good idea all the time, but it saved me that day. Haven't seemed to have this problem since I lost weight, but I totally understand that heavy does NOT equal lazy! I would also imagine that losing weight/getting fit is not a likely solution for a lot of people, because it can be an enormous struggle even when you're doing it for much more significant reasons than to prevent leg chaffing... just some thoughts.
You just never know...

I can't say enough good things about the aforementioned cornstarch baby powder, I even used it in Japan which is humidity central. The anti-perspirent keeps away shave bumps too, btw. Also: cotton granny panties, good for wicking away sweat; lycra, nylon and/or spandex make me chafe like mad because they trap moisture. All depends on proportion, activity and preferences. I guess I'm one of the few people who actually prefer wearing granny panties. (yeah, yeah, yeah, I know)
In the WAAAY too much information category: if you're a female prone to vaginitis, you may want to consider cotton panties for a very different reason than modesty or chafing. The alkali playa dust can upset the normal flora and fauna of your happy girlie place, those establish your body's normal ph balance, get too dusty in the wrong region and voila! instant itch which may not respond to topical treatment. Cotton panties, and specifically cotton, have been my only preventative measure for this, but your mileage may vary.
All together now: EUWWW!
