Professional Sound Engineer and DJ looking for camp

Post by Jekkler » Fri Jun 29, 2012 1:26 pm

I am not sure if this is the right forum, if it is not redirect me pls.

I am a professional sound engineer and DJ, and I want to link up with a camp. I am bringing enough audio equipment and speakers to bump the hell out of a 75'x75' area or less, a few 12's 15's mids and highs. amps and the whole works. Right now I am planing on bringing it all just in case I link up with any groups, and I will have the downsized version of my set up for my own personal spinning regardless of where I camp, but I would like to organize with some people before hand.

You got the power to run my system? I got your beats, I also have no problem, if they are respectful of my equipment, of other DJs utilizing controllers or tables.

Contact me at thanks!

Pls move this if it's in the wrong forum.

Regardless of where you camp? I assume you've read the sound policy? Yes? Please?

um have you been to that thing in the desert?

We love helping folks out around here; sometimes it's easier if we know something about you. there is a thread here to introduce your self to all the other eplayans.

also the Sound policy AntiM pointed out above and then the camps on 2:00 and 10:00 where we let it rip.
here is a thread that folks involved with Sound and EDS camps are meeting and discussing the WhompWhomp. ... ad#p842284

You know that the desert is not going to respect anything?? It will try to wreck your stuff and kill you.

Just sayin.

You have read the survival manual?

If you're planning on bringing that gear and you're not already part of a registered large scale sound camp, you'll need to camp at either 2:00 or 10:00 and fairly far back (closer to Esplanade will have been reserved/occupied by registered camps by the time you get to BRC. Don't forget a solid generator with the wattage and fuel to support it, and you may also want to bring a sound baffle for your generator (be good to your neighbors, they'll be good to you).

The big camps at 2/10 likely already have their sound support worked out, and in the body of the city that sounds like it would be excessive for the sound policy.

You may want to consider the idea of not bringing your gear (especially if this is your first time). Connect with a camp first, then see if there's some part of your rig that makes sense to bring. Good luck!
