Re: Have not received tickets yet. Have you?
I haven't received mine yet - highest price point in the lottery - and I'm not letting myself worry too much about it yet.
But was just curious, it seems some people are getting emails notifying them the tix have been shipped, but others aren't? Two friends got tix unannounced, while two others received emails ahead of time letting them know they had shipped. Odd!

Mine said "signature confirmation required" in the shipping info, but came home to find it in my mailbox without signing....but that could be on the mail-lady too.
anyway...I'm ready!! (and by "ready" I mean my 2yr old 25 person theme-camp got a total of 6 tickets and in all likelihood probably will not be able to make it as a whole but I have my personal supplies and a dome and a bar set-up and art..so we're still gonna bring it!)

@Fishy- Why does this not apply to directed distribution? I'm guessing you'll be at will call, but my DD tickets *should* be shipping...

A pro would purchase at least one ticket, therefore having a physical specimen to reverse engineer weight, texture and all the other goodies that make for a good fake.

Re: Have not received tickets yet. Have you?
They were positing a going through the list from mail sale backwards towards the pre-sale, with those who bought the tickets in November getting them later. I thought that they were basing their hypotheses about the distribution of 50,000 tickets on pretty slim evidence--less than half a dozen examples (not that I went back and checked). And then I wondered when I would be getting my tickets, based on this ticket fulfillment theory, or at least pointed out that I hadn't heard, and I wasn't a pre-saler, possibly putting their story in doubt.Joshua! wrote:@Fishy- Why does this not apply to directed distribution? Direct Distribution isn't STEP and I'm not overseas, so I had the option of mailing or will call. I chose the mail.
Oh, and the not getting the email thing--is it possible that you are getting it, but your email is putting them into the spam folder? That does seem to happen to a lot of llc email.

Tickets are still in the process of being mailed, there are many more orders left to ship.

Re: Have not received tickets yet. Have you?
Honestly- I saw the real ones yesterday at a friends house. Someone would have to spend a lot (a lot a lot) for this quality print job, and for the super fine detail holographics in it.Xain wrote:I'm personally going to refrain from posting any high resolution pics of the tickets, they don't look that hard to copy. and the more source images a counterfeiter has the easier it makes their job.
All the rays of the lightbulbs? Holographic. Less than 1mm thick.
The computer-ish tracing beneath the fountain? Holographic. Less than 1mm thick.
Plus embossing, more holographic print, highly detailed design...
This is not an easy counterfeit job, though I guarantee you people will end up buying some...

Re: Have not received tickets yet. Have you?
Any counterfeiter worth his salt should have a real ticket on hand to replicate from. It would be pretty difficult to replicate the holographics, though using some holographic stickers for on the back, and rubbing on some foil on the front might be pretty convincing.

Re: Have not received tickets yet. Have you?
Kudos to my Awesome Mailroom Guys - still on watch for the magic tickets...
I'm one of those people who will be relying on my mailroom folks at the office to deliver my tickets into my hands. I have not yet received an e-mail or, obviously, the tickets. I bought in the pre-sale.
I want to say: they are the most awesome mailroom guys on the planet. Since I told them around January, each and every one of them has kindly reached out to me at some point or another - some of them two or three times - to let me know they are on the lookout. It's like I've got a whole committee of people who are on watch.
Not wanting them to be on the lookout when nothing's coming, I was going to wait until I got my e-mail. But, since I'm hearing about people getting their package and not even getting an e-mail, I guess I'll call them up in the morning and let them know to move to a higher alert level.
I swear to god, when (if?... no, when...) I get these tickets in my hands, I'm gonna take care of them - I've got to figure out the right thing - cookies, a cake with the Man on it... something... Any ideas?

Re: Have not received tickets yet. Have you?
im wonderin why people would be having tickets/anything shipped to the workplace and its mailroom ?
is there some benefit ?
..if i wasnt home to get it (and the post office actually didnt fuck off and deliver it to the mailbox even tho its supposed to be signed for) ..i think id rather have it in their hands than have it be something 'lost' before it gets to me in some mailroom after it was 'delivered' by the post office ..itd be like a gap in the chain of custody, right yo!
..might have a trip to the postoffice i guess?

Re: Have not received tickets yet. Have you?
I think it depends on the workplace and the mailroom in question. I've always given where I send my ticket a lot of thought, and in the end, I always choose to send my ticket to work. There's just one or two people who sort the mail, and I know them well enough to feel comfortable that I'll get my stuff. I trust them more than I trust my home postal carrier or the people in my apartment building.

Don't be- if you paid for a ticket you'll get it.brnr96 wrote:Nope. No email notification, no nothing...starting to get concerned...can't begin to plan for an event that I am not certain I will be admitted to...may not be going, after all.
They have 50,000+ to mail out, all have to be put in envelopes by hand (no magic "insert fireball" machine, I'm afraid), and you can bet they're not outsourcing or hiring temps for a high-value item like those tickets (this is just a guess, but I would bet a pretty good one).
So, it's a small staff hand stuffing 50,000+ envelopes. Yeah, don't see that happening in a rush. No email here either & I'm not worried at all.
They're a-coming, and you'll have them long before you need to leave for the Burn.
