What to do with meat and veggie scraps

Dehydrate them!

But, if you put your scraps in a garbage bag, let it get real hot, at least the K-9 LEO dogs will never smell "other" odors coming from your camp.

All you need are two pieces 1 yard by 1 yard burlap, and weights to hold it down on the playa.

Put scraps between the layers and let the sun dehydrate them.

Of course, forget about watermellon rinds unless you make them really small. In fact, it must have been mentioned 1000 times in eplaya and even in the Survival Guide "NO WHOLE MELONS" (cut them up at home and ice 'em...end of story....)

We use a collapsible plastic box that we line with a trash bag and put all the wet trash in. Drys out really fast. Only thing is people must remember to transfer the dry stuff to the regular garbage before putting new wet stuff on top. Sometimes they do.

Meat scraps? All of our meat gets eaten...

Fruit and veggie scraps go into a 5 gallon bucket to be added to the compost pile when we return to the farm. Sure it gets a little stinky, but with a tight fitting lid it has never been an issue.
