Re: One Item for BM a Day
I fly out in 4 weeks. I just went into a panic. I can't find my bandanas (face masks) - my AntiM lovely home for wayward art bandana is AWOL. So my task is to upturn my flat again - for the third time - to find it. Damn.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Been over at my moms sewing all night. I think I'm on the home stretch with it. Hope to have it all done and over with in the next 2 weeks. Tent has been sewed and sealed

In the spirit of eplaya, who else thinks this would make an appropriate MnG gift?
I don't like the brown version much. It's hard to show the depth on dark colors.
Glitter version and gloss version.

Maybe you could get some silver paint for the brown ones, so "Fuck yer day!" shows up nicely.

I tried cream color on brown to show the depth but I didn't like the result.Savannah wrote:Maybe you could get some silver paint for the brown ones, so "Fuck yer day!" shows up nicely.
I have blue, red, and yellow clay. Those might work out better.

I personally would love to wear one of those...in any color. (Yer doin' it wrong, hippy.)

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Well, the vintage Columbia 3 speed 3 wheel bicycle I bought last Saturday has gone through some major rehashing. 3 new tires and tubes, tuned up the gears, fixed the front brakes, replaced the grips, oiled everything, found a vintage furry seat cover, found a 102" stainless whip antenna and made (sewn) a flag for it...it all works fine now. Started the random/arty paint job. I don't want to make it perfect, as it will only get 8 days a year use. I am into function over form on this machine. I built and showed cars for years, this is hard to "dumb-down" the vehicle condition. After the paint, all the blinkies go on, and I have a bunch of ELwire, LEDS, etc. Fun project. Thinking about leaving last years trusty 2 wheel bike home is kinda sad, 'tho. It is still dusty. Hate to strip all the lights/horn/blinkies off it, as it was a trusted part of my time on the playa last year.

Sewed my el-wire (badly) onto my camelbak. Then added safety pins as my sewing sucks.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Today the parcel fairy came, the silk screening supplies, shirts, and powder coating material all arrived bright and early. Popped on over to the local plastic/acrylic purveyor to get some containers to put each color of the powder into, but dammit I forgot I'd ordered 3x of one of the colors, so I've got to swing back and grab a couple more tomorrow before I can transfer it out of the plastic bags it ships in. I've got a couple playa projects coming up this month that will call for powder coating, and hopefully next week I'll get the chance to do the silk screening on the tees for campmates.
Summer in California means lots of locally grown fruit is in season, while I was out I picked up 20lbs of awesome stuff. Spent a lot of the evening shucking strawberries then juicing and blending the hell out of strawberries and raspberries. From there we'll end up pre-mixing our own concentrates for punches and drinks.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
We really need a like button for this thread! So many great projects and it is just really exciting to know that everyone here is working away to make their specific burn just as amazing as possible:-)
Went to the Waterfront Blues fest in Portland today and found a small cloth umbrella, looks sort of like hats and bags from Guatemala but it is just the right size for shade and once I make sure there are no loose threads and sew some wonderful fringe and shiny bits on it is is going to be fantastic. Also got my mini mister and some dyes I ordered today.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
I know! kinda spendy but I get so damn overheated on my bike because of lack of shade. Sometimes I've preferred to walk because I can use my umbrella. I don't like to wear a big hat as much because of the volume of my hair, it's just not as cooling as an umbrella.
Oh my god, it's HUGE!
Re: One Item for BM a Day
went out of town so I have a few days to catch up...
- Came home to a lovely package containing two of the most appreciated pieces of paper in my current life (aka BM 2012 tickets)
- Bought 4 large plastic totes to organize my ever growing BM/raving clothing/accessory mounds
- Organized said items into categories within the totes
- Wrote an ad for our theme camp radio station
- Decided to skip a current project and move on to my night robe as otherwise I would have really nothing very warm to wear at night
- Finally convinced the BF that box truck is the right way to go for us this year
- Let go of many projects that I just know I won't have enough time to finish before our short deadline
Oh and we're moving this weekend...so I have even less time than I anticipate.
This is my update...sorry it is so long!!

Got some clear dust goggles for night along with a 8 oz flask. Looking at el wire from hong kong trying to see if they will combine shipping. I only have one more thing to buy here in town before the burn then it is just food and water. I do not have hardly anything left to sew yet left as well. Pretty much done and ready to go

Now you can borrow some of Lucky420's "neeners" and toss them at us when we're all in here panicking.
If you want drama to stop following you everywhere, try letting go of the leash.

I'm already panicking...does that mean I can get one in advance?

Re: One Item for BM a Day
lol ummmmmmmmm
This is all i have left and Im done! Have to figure out how to fit all my clothes in ONE bag though. This is going to be fun haha
Sew lace on draw pants,Finish clip skirt Gray,Sew underwear,Put pockets on Playa coat and other horn, Sew two peices of ribbon on wrap,Make front pannel for black dress and sew snaps(photo).
All pretty small stuff really. Then bout a week out before burn take everything out of my bags and check it off the list to make sure nothing is forgotten
Kinda scary to think of forgetting something.
