Did you get a STEP Ticket?
Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
Yes he does, and he takes frequent chronic breaks that extend STEP waiting times.

Do any of you have a theory as to why it appears to be taking longer than I expected for these 1,000 tickets to hit our email inboxes?
Is there a limit to the number of open STEP offers at any given time?

My theory:
they are releasing the tickets in batches to prevent *another* crash on the server(s) when everyone goes to purchase and pay for the tickets...
Buy the ticket, take the ride!

Super Happy for all the STEP kids, I walked around for weeks with a single happy thought in my head- "I have a ticket!!" I am wishing that same joy to all of you.

Its taking so long because they are crocheting and knitting cute little personalized cozies for each step ticket at will call.

Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
It is an error, and you're not the first to have this happen. I think if you just don't buy the STEP tickets you are okay...ultratang7 wrote:??? I'm confused! I just got an email telling me that I can get tickets through STEP, but I've already bought and paid for my ticket through my Camp distribution. Does this mean I can buy one more ticket or two? I'm still getting the first one, right? I've paid for it and have the comfirmation #.

Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
I'm guessing that they're still trying to honor the original STEP plan, plus prevent crashes. Thus, they're probably throwing 100 or so tickets into the pool, and those people have up to 3 days to accept. Once someone accepts, the next 1 or 2 tickets are sent out, etc, etc. Whether or not you're in the 1,000, the playa will provide.scott_k wrote:Hey STEPpers,

Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
Alright...A bit of fuzzy math based on this awesome survey by JewStar over at Reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/BurningMan/comm ... ail_times/
We know we were somewhere in the :17's when they released the 1000 tix yesterday. Based on Jewstar's survey the :17s should take us from Place In Line (PIL) 1096 to PIL-1381 (out of the total 2000.)

- Best case scenario: We were at the end of the :17 tranche (PIL-1381) and everyone left in line is only waiting for 1 ticket.
- Best Case Result: We get through PIL-2381 and everyone in the original 2000 gets their ticket!!!
/ - Worst Case Scenario: We were at the beginning of the :17 tranche (PIL-1096) and everyone in line is waiting for 2 tickets.
- Worst Case Result: We get from PIL-1096 to PIL-1605 which puts us in the mid :21's and 80% of STEPers get their tickets.
/ - Likely Scenario: We were somewhere in the middle of the :17 tranche (~PIL-1200) and everyone left in line needs an average of 1.5 tickets.
- Likely Scenario Result: We get from PIL-1200 to PIL-1867 which gets us one third of the way through the :28 tranche and 93% of STEPers get their tickets! At this point we'd only need 200 more tickets entered into STEP after the 1000 for everyone on the list to be finished out (at the 1.5 per STEPer rate)

Of course this doesn't account for the STEPers who've received tickets by other means and will decline to buy their tickets, releasing them back into the pool. So there does still see to be hope!!! Hold in there! (I know I am...)

They are closer now Arnoldo
Every hour every minute seemed to last eternity
I was so afraid Arnoldo
We were young and full of life and all of us prepared to burn
And I always had the faith
That tickets would come to all of us in turn.
/sorry. every time I saw "Arnoldo", I read it as Fernando. I'm finally drunk enough to do something about it.

Tengerguy, tickets are here...... sooooon they will be ours!!
Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
Calirobert --
"SOON" for me would have been several months ago!

In 2010 I waited till the last minute and went alone.
Then in 2011 I got tickets the day they went on sale, put up a Rites of Passage Poster, but the tickets in the frame and lived into a future of going to Burning Man every day from January on. Buying stuff to gift, wear, planning the menu for each day (I did all the cooking for us).
This year I've been living into a future of what I could give my son to replace the Christmas Present I promised . . . and wondering . . . and a roller coaster . . .
And I LOVE all THREE different experiences. Even this one!

One of my campmates got her STEP offer (she was a 12:17'er) but is turning them back in 'cause we already have tickets for everyone in our camp. Hope one of you get them. : )

I honestly think that the STEP queue will be cleared up with these additional tickets. Good luck everyone. In dust we trust
