Started up my Harley buggy. :) I must remember to have one foot on the brake before putting the other on the accelerator. There is an electrical contact working as an ignition when you press down on the accelerator. Brake on: check, key on: check, press down on accelerator a little bit: check, engine starts. Release brake, and give her the gas. There is also a forward/ reverse handle between the seats. I'll leave it in forward most of the time.

I connected/checked out the lights. I need to get some small twist connecter caps to make connections more secure and rust resistant. It's gots lights! :D Headlights, taillights, and brake lights, but no turn signals.

I went joy riding on my electic Harley buggy, till I ran down the batteries this morning. Its on the 36 volt charger now. I had on only a swimming suit, and that cold morning air was refreshing ( before the 100+ temps. today...).

I bagged up some clothes that do not fit me anymore to give to Mrs. Sanchez and her 2 kids. The Public Authority only gave her 4 hours prorated credit for last month, but but she worked over 6 hours. Cheapskates. 9 bucks an hour for her to support 2 kids. I signed her time papers, but I was pissed.

I don't mean to brag, but yesterday I bought two packets of tuna.

Damn big spender! You better slow down! You're gonna end up being way too over prepared at this rate.

This morning I found this backpack The Everest Sporty Hydration Sling Bag
Image
http://www.ebags.com/product/everest/sp ... bag/217183 and ordered it in Foliage/OD Green.

Its sort of a knock off of a bag that I've wanted for a long time, but that is way out of my budget.
This is the 'original' bag that they are trying to copy
Image
http://www.maxpedition.com/store/pc/Mon ... r-2p11.htm

But, I got the knock off for a 1/5 of the price of the 'original'

PS. O yeah, and we got placed today.

Just yesterday I was thinking that I surely would love me some blaze orange hot pants to go with the vest.
I was in town getting auto parts and thought I'd stop by Goodwill to score some skimpy shorts. I walked in and BAM! These shorts drew me like a moth to a flamethrower.
Caution Hot Pants.JPG
They say "Schlitterbahn". I'm pretty damned sure that means "Glitter Butt".
How cool is that?

Sweetpea said they make me look slutty. I said "And..."
Said I look like a walking advertisement for sex. "And..."
Heh.

I love this time of year...

That's awesome, Foxfur! To top that, you're going to have to find (or make) a fur safety vest hehe

Big Day Today! I ordered my new tent, AKA "The Condo."

Also got three pairs of shorts at the thrift store, and gifted two sets of boots to fellow burners yesterday. Starting to do an informal inventory of what I have on hand. I seem to be missing my black leather mini-skirt. Anyone seen it?

Now that the tent is taken care of, it looks like I mostly just need to buy expendables this year and maybe a bullhorn.

Also checked off my list:

Camping site requested - check
Volunteer hours signed up for - check
One good bottle of Bourbon - check
Cheap beer for daytime - buying it today, 3 cases

WTF - are you only coming to TTITD for one day or so?
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

Lots of spandex, PVC, and Latex evilness; ordered.

Floor and roof vents in utility trailer/playa bedroom; installed

Uber wicked super duper swamp cooler evap pad; ordered.

Lights for every extremity of my trike; ordered.

Crapload of cheapass cosplay sunglasses, goggles, makeup; ordered.

Also got wind that for the 4th of Juplaya event, the playa surface was very soft and powdery. Currently researching gear hubs for the playa trike. Last year even with the hard surface I found the single speed to be a bit of a PITA, especially when wearing 8" platforms.

Oh also confirmed the last tattoo appointment I'll be able to get in before TTITD. Hopefully can get most of the way done this sleeve piece.

-battery powered radio
-bike light that can double as a headlamp

-"Zen and the Art Of Motorcycle Maintainence" (for the train ride from NY to NV)

Comparing prices for 70% aluminet, no matter what that stuff is pricey! I'm going to try to find a local shop today, so I can avoid shipping costs.

Working on anything through the dog house in the RV is pretty tight. At times my arms aren't long enough from above or below. Other times, my arms are too wide. Or, I can get to the part, but my hand is too big to be able to do anything once I'm there.

Working hard on the multi-person costume (working title, "Water Boats"). I'll be looking for people to help wear it. I hope to do several "appearances" with it. Here's the prototype:

Amazing costume Emily!

2 cases of shelf stable milk and 2 mini megaphones arrived in the mail. Started unpacking unneeded stuff from the old RV just so I can repack without the "extra". We are hauling the kids' yurts in the trailer this year so have to pare way down on the "stuff" we always haul. (Why in hell do I have so many respirators and goggles? I think they have been multiplying in the cabinet.) Found a few little treasures I missed when unloading - a moldy bagel, small schwag, dead fire extinguisher.

This is very similar to an age old form of art performance in south of India called "poikkal kuthirai" (literally translates to fake legged horses).
It has lot of variations. Multi person customes, wood legs and so on.
