Right on, Savannah, I use a detergent bottle too. Can't beat it.

I filled my bike tires with air and started my Playa Conditioning Program by riding 7km.

I got a couple new pair of goggles. I suspect we're in for a rough year and I'm not happy with the cheap offshore stuff I got off eBay last year, plus between working on projects and assorted burner/steampunk shindigs throughout the year… can't have enough good pairs of gogs. Cool modular design with removable/replaceable/interchangeable lenses - I also picked up a couple additional lenses.

Also made another hardware store run, needed a couple more gallons of paint, as well as some chemicals for cleaning the metals I'll be working with on in another project later this month.

I got a red nalgene pee bottle and labeled it "not recommended for drinking", just in case.

SEE?! I knew it. :D

It'd be funny to drop a little green or blue food coloring in.

Great idea - I have a set of neon food colors I'm bringing for that.

My remote controlled RGB LED light strips came in the mail from ebay today. Problem is, they didn't send two thirds of my product. I have light strips, but no controller box or remote control.

Those fuckers! :x
I hate that shit! :x

Though, is it possible that it might ship from two different factories? Or that the controllers and remotes got stuck in customs a little bit longer?

Either way, its still BS!

Are you totally positive that you purchased the controller kit vs just the strips? Some listings for those that I've seen lately have drop down menus to pick what you're buying.. and you can buy just the strips if you aren't careful.

It sucks, but here's a listing for the controller + remote for under $8 shipped.

I've been ordering a bunch of supplies lately. Today I ordered a 62 quart cooler to designate just for ice, an ice scoop, a pair of tongs(not THONGS) and a set of bar rags(no, not that kind) and a set of plastic liquor pourers. Bacon Bloody Tuesday is starting to materialize...... :P

I double checked my order summary to see if I was being sent 2 packages, and it said " 1 of 1 shipped". Then I TRIPLE checked the item listing to make sure I hadn't misread. No dropdown menus, and it says "package includes 1 light strip, 1 IR controller, and 1 24 key remote" in the description. I messaged the seller about it, and they responded right away saying they would ship the missing pieces.

Trilo is absolutely right about the rayovac batteries TG...they are just about garbage. I bought some a couple of months ago and I am not even going to use the rest of the large package because they last for a week or a few days and that is it. Basically junk:-(

Thats pretty kick ass!
Who was the seller?
You don't always get quality customer service with ebay. I have particular seller I try to go through for all my LEDs, EL wire, and blinky stuff, because they have quality customer service.
I ordered one those "pocket plasmas" because they fit perfect into the cartridg spot of my gas mask. The first one they sent me was junk, they sent another immediately with out even asking a question. They even expedited shipping because I explained I needed it before Burning Man.

Plus, I should be getting my chair back, which will make prep easier.

I've actually started buying my batteries on Amazon.. $22 shipped for 40 Duracell copper top AAs..

Duracell's are by far and wide the best alkaline battery you can get. Costco/Kirkland brand has also tested out very high in studies. Energizer is so-so, Rayovac and Panasonic are complete crap.

Hot pink safety tape, Electrolyte capsules, the rest of the armatures for the group costume. Just heard that our camp will be on grid so figure on bringing lots of LED lights!

Also 200ml RY4 smoke juice and 4 eGo Vision Stardust cartomizers for my vaporizer / e-smoke. That's definitely for the burn.
Very nice plates! And thank you for doing what you did for the rest of us wherever you were stationed.

The seller is whatwears-uk.

I only went with them because they offered the cheapest price for what I wanted. Most other RGB sets with controllers were going for $20+ and this little set up was only $12. I didn't need lots of it, cause I'm only using it to outline the fur collar on my coat. I don't typically do ebay for blinkies, I go through Coolneon for EL wire, and local retailers for most other things.

Today, I got this beautiful cream and pink satin fabric (blanket) from thrift store... for $2.99!
It has so much potential and my mind is whirling.

Now, if only I can figure out how to thread the sewing machine... :)

You people and your canned birds…

The goggles and lenses I ordered the other day came in. I also finished up painting the deli counter (at long last, that thing needed so many coats), and mixed up a playa-sized batch of mixer concentrate for one of the drinks I want to serve up on the playa. That's in the freezer now, and once it solidifies I'll vac-seal it. On the playa all I'll need to do is add the booze and a little club soda, no muss no fuss.

A local frozen yogurt shop gives a sturdy, colorful plastic spoon with every purchase. Lately they're having a limited edition run of Hello Kitty spoons. Thinking these might be fun, practical gifts, I've been hoarding them (mooooostly as an excuse to eat more frozen yogurt :P).

Today I finally got around to sandpapering the name of the yogurt shop off the spoons' handles. Half an hour into this task, I realize that the whole reason I was excited to gift these particular spoons was because they have Kitty-chan, a company mascot, on them. I think I'm doin' it wrong.
When he lights his streetlamp, it is as if he brought one more star to life, or one flower.
When he puts out his lamp, he sends the flower, or the star, to sleep.
That is a beautiful occupation.

Ah, but you can use those spoons to dig your way into Foxfur's heart.
He's quite the Hello Kitty fan.
If you're lucky, someone will dig up the picture.
